The cheapest way to triple your iPhone’s charging speed

Many of Apple’s policies are consumer friendly — surprisingly so, at times. But Apple is still in the business of making money, and there are some things the company does that are infuriating. Not supporting microSD memory cards is at the top of the list for sure, but Apple’s refusal so far to include a fast charger in the box with iPhones that support fast charging is a close second. That’s right, you can actually more than triple the speed at which your iPhone charges with the right hardware. First, you’ll need an 18W USB-C wall adapter since that’s the iPhone’s maximum charging rate, and we recommend the $14 iClever 18W USB C Power Delivery Charger. Then you’ll need a USB-C to Lightning cable, of course, and the Anker USB C to Lightning Cable costs $4 less than the one Apple sells.

iClever 18W USB C Power Delivery Charger

  • Universal Power Delivery USB-C Port: It doesn’t matter if it’s a phone, a tablet, a power bank, or something in between–if it’s a USB-C device, the iClever 18w USB-C Compact Wall Charger can do it all at full speed. Just insert your USB-C cord
  • Lightning-fast Charging: Bring your devices back to life in record time. This small but mighty adapter pumps 18W of power into your devices for quick, effortless charging. It’s ideal for high-powered devices like iPhone XS/XS Max/XR/X/8 Plus/8, Google Pixel 2/2 XL, a variety of Huawei models, and so much more
  • Safe and Reliable: Worried about device damage? Don’t be! We’ve built in a variety of safeguards to protect your devices from harm. This USB-C PD charger prevents short circuits, over-current, over-voltage, overheating
  • Compact and Travel Ready: There are few things more annoying than a dead phone in the middle of the day. The travel-friendly iClever wall plug will keep you
  • What’s in My Order? Each order includes iClever 18W Wall Charger and a handy user manual. You’ll also get a 30-day money back guarantee, an 18 month replacement warranty, and a lifetime of friendly customer service

iClever 18W USB C Power Delivery Charger, Ultra-Compact Type-C Wall Charger with Foldable Plug,…: $13.99

Anker USB C to Lightning Cable

  • Power Delivery: Use this cable with your USB-C Power Delivery charger (including Apple 18W 29W, 30W, 61W, or 87W USB-C Power Adapter) to charge your iOS device, and access fast-charging for iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X, XS, XR, XS Max, and later models.
  • Charge and Sync: Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with Lightning connector to your USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) enabled Mac and iPad Pro to seamlessly sync & charge.
  • Ultimate Durability: Lasts 12× longer than other cables and proven to withstand over 12000 bends in strict laboratory tests.
  • MFi: MFi certification and strict quality testing ensure your Apple devices are charged safely, at their fastest possible speed..
  • A Cable for Life: We’re so confident about Powerline II’s long-lasting performance that we gave it a hassle-free, lifetime warranty.

Samsung insists it fixed the Galaxy Fold’s display flaws, and a new release date is coming soon

The Galaxy Fold could have been a huge disaster for Samsung, but the tech giant was smart enough to postpone the launch of its foldable handset after reviewers found a bunch of critical issues that broke the screen. Samsung delayed the phone’s release as it investigated the matter, and recently warned US buyers who pre-ordered the Fold that their orders might be canceled if the phone doesn’t ship by the end of May. But Samsung won’t cancel the device, a new report reveals, as it has fixed the issues and will soon announce a new release date.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 might have a huge upgrade we didn’t see coming

%name Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 might have a huge upgrade we didn’t see coming by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

2018 saw Samsung release three of most boring flagship smartphones we’ve seen in years, and 2019 was supposed to be a complete reversal for the world’s top smartphone vendor. So far, however, things have been mixed. Samsung started out very strong in 2019, releasing three remarkable new smartphones that make up the Galaxy S10 series. The Galaxy S9 series phones had the same design as their predecessors and no compelling new features at all, but the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ were fresh and new, inside and out. Android fans loved Samsung’s new all-screen design and the big camera upgrade, and sales have reportedly been quite strong so far.

After knocking it out of the park with the Galaxy S10 series, Samsung completely whiffed with its new Galaxy Fold smartphone. Even if we completely disregard the fact that it was a piece of junk and the release had to be delayed while Samsung figures out how to make it less of a piece of junk, the design of Samsung’s first foldable smartphone is horrible. Both screens are surrounded by massive bezels, there’s a huge notch bitten out of the top-right corner of the main display, and you can see a big crease down the middle of the screen while you use the phone. It’s a $2,000 embarrassment.

So far in 2019, Samsung has racked up one big win and one big loss. Thankfully, it looks like the company’s third new flagship phone of the year will be another check in the win column.

%name iPhone 11 and 11 Max case leaks might confirm Apple’s biggest design change by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

With some four months to go until Apple unveils the 2019 iPhone series, we’re getting more and more leaks teasing specific design changes for this year’s iPhone generation. Before you get too excited about an entirely new iPhone design, you should know that all these leaks seem to suggest the same thing. Apple has planned a major camera upgrade for the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11R, which will influence the phone’s rear design. But, overall, the phone will have almost the same design as the iPhone XS and iPhone XR phones. A couple of images showing purported iPhone 11 cases seem to reinforce existing rumors.

Dire new figures show the cable industry is now losing 14,000 subscribers every day

%name Dire new figures show the cable industry is now losing 14,000 subscribers every day by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

At this point, it’s pretty hard to argue that the traditional pay TV industry is not living on borrowed time, as it continues to bleed subscribers who are increasingly flocking to cheaper, streaming solutions.

2018 hit the industry particularly hard. Pay TV including cable and satellite providers lost 3.2 million subscribers, and as we mentioned earlier this week, the industry’s losses during the first three months of 2019 mean the industry is already a third of the way to hitting that same unfortunate number again.

Octopus gets sweet revenge on live streamer trying to eat it

%name Octopus gets sweet revenge on live streamer trying to eat it by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

People throw around the word “karma” a lot whenever something bad happens to someone, but it’s hard to find a better example of real, actual karma than this video of a Chinese internet personality being attacked by her would-be meal. The clip, which made the rounds on Chinese social media before spreading on Twitter and elsewhere, falls right into the spot between hilarious and frightening.

In the clip, a girl who apparently goes by the nickname “Seaside Girl Little Seven” online can be seen with a face full of tentacles after the octopus she was trying to eat had other plans.
