One of the issues with smartphones today, no matter what platform you choose, is that makers are still offering little on-board storage. Sure, there are plenty of cloud solutions to make up for that, and only iOS users lack the ability to add more storage to an iPhone with help of microSD cards. But that doesn’t mean that the default storage on mobile devices is acceptable, and microSD support still only goes up to 128GB of additional space.

Remember back in 2013 when Apple launched a device called the iPhone 5c that was supposed to be a lower cost device that could claw back some market share from Android, especially in emerging markets such as China? When news of Apple’s radically redesigned 2015 MacBook Air broke on Tuesday, one of the most jarring revelations revolved around how many ports it would have. 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman has reported that the new MacBook Air will dump full-sized USB ports, MagSafe connectors and SD card slots. Instead it seems the new ultra-thin MacBook will have one USB Type-C port and a headphone jack… and that’s it.
