Foxconn is on an iPhone 6-related hiring spree, but the giant Apple supplier isn’t only looking for human workforce. IT Home reports that Foxconn may rely on some 10,000 robots to make Apple’s 2014 iPhone models, in addition to humans, with each machine capable of building up to 30,000 units per year, for a theoretical total of 300 million iPhones per year.

It took Nokia several years to launch an Android handset of its own, but the company’s Android vision wasn’t exactly what fans were expecting. In early 2014, Nokia announced budget-friendly Android smartphones that weren’t top-of-the-line flagship handsets and didn’t even run an Android OS version filled with all the goodies most Android users have grown to love. Following the Microsoft purchase, Nokia released one more mid-range Android handset, which was in line with its predecessors. However, Microsoft is now rumored to launch a different kind of Android handset in the future, one that will be included in the Lumia family rather than the X family of affordable devices.

Animator Marty Cooper made a splash several weeks ago with a short video called Aug(De)Mented Reality, a compilation of cartoon animations brought to life in the real world using an iPhone. Adam Savage, co-host of MythBusters and son of an animator himself, invited Cooper to the Cave (his workshop) to show off how he created the stop motion animations which have currently garnered over 4 million views on YouTube. Amazing but true: We may have found a group of people snootier than diehard Apple fanboys. CNBC reports that Apple has been desperately trying to peel executives from Swiss watch manufacturers away from their current jobs but has had a very hard time doing so because many Swiss watch executives don’t want Swiss watches’ reputations to be “tainted” by Apple.

There’s nothing better on a summer day than getting a nice cold beer fresh from the tap. However, you’ve traditionally had to go to a bar or restaurant to get fresh draft beer, which can be an expensive treat after a while. A new Kickstarter project called SYNEK wants to change this by giving you your own mini-tap that you can store right on your kitchen counter and use to pour yourself fresh beer whenever you like.

There’s something to be said for having obtainable goals. Kickstarter is infamous for its failed projects, instances where creators were too ambitious, too deceitful or too lazy to follow through, but if you’d like to help support a sure thing, Zack Danger Brown is currently trying to raise $10 to make a potato salad. He hasn’t decided what kind yet, but the campaign has already crossed $300, prompting Brown to create a few stretch goals.

If there is a better way to celebrate our nation’s independence than by downloading a few awesome paid iPhone and iPad apps for free, we don’t know what it is.
