It seems that amid all the excitement surrounding the iPhone 6 launch, Apple has quietly delayed one of its most intriguing new proposals. 9to5Mac noticed on Tuesday that Apple had updated its CarPlay landing page to note that the CBS News application will be compatible with the software, but the company also removed any mention of the year 2014 from the lineup of vehicle manufacturers that have partnered with Apple.

You’ll never be able to accuse Samsung’s own investment firm of being in the tank for its parent company. Bloomberg Businessweek reports that analysts have once again slashed their profit estimates for Samsung in the latest quarter, which sadly hasn’t been unusual to see this year. However, what makes this latest round of lower profit estimates noteworthy is a report from Samsung Securities that brutally explains why Samsung’s high-end smartphone business might be in a lot of trouble.

Apple is making a boatload of cash on record iPhone 6 launch sales, and criminals are already trying to take advantage of this particular cash cow. While smugglers are selling iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus units for as much as $4,000 a pop in China after purchasing as many units as possible from the early launch markets, three men in Germany decided to hit an Apple retail store on Saturday, a day after the iPhone 6 was launched.

Apple might have the competition beat when it comes to sales figures, but there’s plenty that the iPhone 6 can’t do. One of the most requested features from most smartphone buyers is water- and dust-resistance. We want our electronics to be able to survive in less than ideal settings, and while both Sony and Samsung have both championed the versatility of the Xperia Z3 and the Galaxy S5, respectively, Apple’s hardware is still more vulnerable to the elements.

Motorola has already released its flagship second-generation Moto X on multiple carriers, but has it been saving something even better as a Verizon exclusive? Engadget points out that the leakers over at HelloMotoHK have just published pictures of a new Motorola smartphone called the Droid Turbo that will be an exclusive for Verizon. What’s more, Engadget says that “some reports suggest it’ll pair a Quad HD display with a 2.65GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset and a 20-megapixel camera.” In other words, this new phone could offer more impressive specs than the ones Motorola offered with the 2014 version of the Moto X.

While the jury’s still out on whether your iPhone 6 Plus will bend just from keeping it in your pocket, the larger device does seem to be a lot more vulnerable to bending then smaller iPhone models. Unbox Therapy decided to put the iPhone 6 Plus under duress and figure out how much force it takes to bend the device in your bare hands using its own “bend test.” The video will make anyone who owns a 6 Plus feel a little queasy.

Two of the most annoying iOS 8 problems, at least for some iPhone and iPad users who have updated to Apple’s most recent iOS update, include Wi-Fi connectivity and/or speed issues, and faster than expected battery drain. Apple is expected to soon roll out iOS 8.0.1 to fix a bunch of issues, though Wi-Fi issues and battery draining have not been mentioned in the leaked changelog.
