One of the dumbest criticisms that Apple haters lob at the iPhone is that Apple has essentially released the same device over and over again for the past seven years. Even a passing glance at the design changes between the devices reveals huge differences, not to mention the constant improvements to the device that Apple has made with both its software and internal hardware. BGR published our review of the hotly anticipated iPhone 6 on Tuesday and in it, we touched on a number of broader topics outside of what one might typically find in a device review. After an “unofficial” blend test for the iPhone 6 Plus that hit YouTube a few days ago, the official gadget blenders have finally performed their own such silly test, but with a twist, posting the resulting video also on YouTube. Blendtec took an iPhone 6 Plus and a 2013 Galaxy Note 3 to simultaneously test them in its regular blend test.

As if you don’t already have enough of an incentive to not drop your shiny new iPhone, a new jailbreak tweak will give you one more reason by programming your iPhone to emit a blood-curdling scream whenever it gets dropped. Via 9to5Mac, the new tweak uses your iPhone’s accelerometer to determine when the device is falling from a certain height and then lets out a scream to alert you to the fact that it’s in freefall.

Soon after Apple unveiled the iPhone 5s last year, the first of its iPhones to sport a fingerprint scanner embedded in the Home button, researchers proved the security measure could be bypassed as long as an attacker managed to somehow replicate the fingerprints of an iPhone 5s owner. Marc Rogers, one of the same people who hacked Touch ID last year, is now back with a similar trick that works on both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, even though both devices sport better fingerprint scanners than the iPhone 5s.

Even though Samsung would obviously prefer that people buy its own Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 flagship handsets, the company does have one reason to be happy about the record opening weekend sales that Apple posted for the iPhone 6: Namely, the Korean electronics giant is supplying a huge number of components for Apple’s new devices.
