Not many people can pride themselves of being able to run or at least walk a marathon when they’re in the prime of their lives, let alone at 90-years of age. But Harriette Thompson isn’t such a case. The amazing 92-year old has become the oldest woman to run a full marathon. What’s even more impressive is that she started running when she was 76, and has completed 16 Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego marathons since first attending one.

Although they don’t get as much attention these days as smartphones, Windows-based personal computers are still a staple of the computing experience throughout the world. That said, it’s been a while since Windows PCs were actually something to get excited about the same way that we get excited for new iPhones and new Galaxy S models every year. Writing over at Techpinions, Bob O’Donnell makes the case that the launch of Windows 10 marks a significant milestone for new Windows PCs, which for the first time in years might be worthy of our excitement again.

2008’s 700MHz auction was very good for AT&T and Verizon but not so good for its competitors. Granted, Sprint and T-Mobile have themselves to blame for the outcome of that hugely important spectrum auction since they didn’t make bids in it, but it’s also the case that the smaller carriers are financially outgunned by the wireless industry’s two biggest players. Now the two carriers are teaming up with Dish, several rural wireless carriers and public interest groups such as Public Knowledge to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself with the upcoming auction for spectrum on the 600MHz band.

If you’ve owned a PlayStation 4 since launch day, there’s a decent chance you’ve hit a wall when it comes to internal storage. 500GB might sound like a lot, but when the average triple-A game can take up 30-40GB, space vanishes quickly. Sony has made it possible for users to manually replace their hard drives, but if that sounds like too much of a hassle, it might be worth waiting on an official 1TB model.

YouTube has been toying with a sleek new design for its video player interface for quite some time, but only a select few had been able to try it. Then, people discovered a reasonably simple hack of sorts that let them force the new player UI to appear by using an editor to manually make some changes to the cookie YouTube plants in your browser cache. Of course, most people had no interest in editing their cookies in order to see the new UI.

Well guess what: YouTube has finally made it easy for anyone and everyone to check out the new video player interface before it’s released to the general public.

Microsoft spent a massive amount of time and resources trying to create a platform that would suit desktop computers and mobile devices perfectly. With Windows 8, it ended up failing pretty colossally on both counts. Windows 10 will see Microsoft try to dial back the crazy new features in an effort to calm the storm brought about by Windows 8, but there are probably still people out there who are looking for a solid mobile experience in the Windows environment.

The answer, as it turns out, may simply be Android.
