Master & Dynamic is still a pretty young brand in the increasingly crowded personal audio market, but the company is quickly making a name for itself. Since releasing its first pair of headphones back in 2014, Master & Dynamic has consistently produced class-leading headphones that offer phenomenal sound quality and exquisite design. It’s easy to find one or the other, but rare to find both in a single pair of headphones.

I have been a fan of the company’s products since I first tried the Master & Dynamic MH40 over-ear headphones back in late 2014. Each new iteration of M&D’s over-ear headphones has managed to raise the bar, and then the company’s first true wireless earbuds really wowed me last year. In a nutshell, the Master & Dynamic MW07 cord-free earphones make Apple’s AirPods sound like dollar store earbuds.

During all that time, however, I wondered why a premium audio brand like Master & Dynamic would shy away from the noise cancelling headphone market. After all, premium active noise cancelling headphones represent a popular and seemingly lucrative segment of the premium personal audio market. I got my answer last month, when the company sent me a pair of Master & Dynamic MW65 active noise cancelling wireless over-ear headphones to test ahead of today’s announcement. It took years of research for M&D to develop noise cancellation technology that doesn’t degrade the company’s lauded sound quality, and the MW65 is the fruit of the company’s labor. How did it turn out? Long story short, all that effort has absolutely paid off big time.

Is the coffee dark and full of flavors in that Game of Thrones shot from Sunday’s episode that everybody is talking about? Well, not quite. HBO said in a statement that “the latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake,” adding that “Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.” That’s easily the best thing coming out of episode 4, The Last of the Starks, which is one of those Game of Thrones episodes that could have been so great but really failed to live up to our expectations.

The PR team for Beluga whales is really killing it lately. In the span of 10 days we’ve seen two Beluga whale stories hit the news cycle for the most bizarre and incredulous of reasons. Just a few days ago, for instance, Norwegian officials revealed that they came into contact with a Beluga whale that may have been trained — by Russian naval forces — for spying missions.

If you have a tough time believing that story, you may have an even tougher time believing that a Beluga whale in Norway went diving after an iPhone someone accidentally dropped into the sea. What’s more, the whale managed to retrieve the iPhone and bring it back to the surface. Does it sound crazy? Of course. But not to worry, there’s actually video of the event which, naturally, has been blowing up all over Twitter and Reddit.

The world is a strange place when you’re 13 years old. You’re tackling a variety of school subjects while trying to navigate the choppy waters of personal relationships, forging friendships, and figuring out your place in the grand scheme of things. For a 13-year-old boy from West London named Karanbir Cheema, all those troubles paled in comparison to something that loomed even larger: an intense food allergy that left him vulnerable to dairy, nuts, eggs, and wheat.

Ahead of Google I/O 2019 getting under way in earnest starting Tuesday, one early announcement the company decided to go ahead and tee up on Monday was a long overdue redesign for Android Auto — Google’s smart driving companion and infontainment setup that’s getting a fresh look and new features this summer.

The overriding goals of this refresh for Android Auto, which has expanded to now support 500 car models from 50 different brands, is to help drivers get on the road faster, see more useful information and to have common driving tasks generally simplified. That’s according to a company blog post today from Android Auto product manager Rod Lopez, who adds that Google will be sharing more details at Tuesday’s “What’s New with Android for Cars” session during I/O.

We often take modern conveniences like keyless entry and automatic garage doors for granted, but residents of North Olmsted, Ohio, just experienced what it is like to have both of those features taken away without warning.

As WKYC reports, city residents have been dealing with a truly bizarre phenomenon in recent weeks, with car key fobs and garage door openers dying seemingly out of nowhere. Nothing seemed to fix the problem, and after weeks of investigating it became clear that something was creating a strong radio signal in the same frequency as is often used by such devices.

It’s a shame that much of the narrative surrounding Tesla these days centers on the company’s stock price, Elon Musk’s shenanigans on Twitter, or other trivial details that don’t truly capture some of the impressive automotive innovations Tesla has rolled out at a slow and steady pace over the years.
