  • The entire sports world is currently on hiatus on account of the coronavirus.
  • If you’re in need of a fix, the list below highlights some of the best Netflix shows and movies with a sports focus.

When the NBA suspended its season in March due to the coronavirus, the decision sent shockwaves throughout the sports world. Though some people at the time believed the NBA’s decision was heavy-handed, it wasn’t long before other sports leagues followed suit. The NCAA Basketball tournament? Canceled. Spring Training? Canceled. European soccer? Well, you might as well spend your time watching Lionel Messi highlights on YouTube because that was canceled as well.

Entertainment wise, the past two and a half months have been challenging for hardcore sports fans. These days, there’s not much news to cover aside from trade rumors and sports documentaries like the ESPN Chicago Bulls documentary The Last Dance. And seeing as how there’s no telling when sports as we know it will return, we thought it might be a good idea to fill you in on the best sports-themed movies and documentaries currently available on Netflix. It may not be the same thing as watching a game live, but if you’re in need of a sports fix, the titles below should do the trick.

Don’t miss the Apple Watch Series 3 while it’s back down to $179

%name Don’t miss the Apple Watch Series 3 while it’s back down to $179 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • There are plenty of great smartwatch deals on Amazon today, but the Apple Watch Series 3 is easily the best option for iPhone owners and it’s back in stock at the lowest price ever on Amazon.
  • People who use an Apple Watch often say they couldn’t imagine being without one, and there are a number of fantastic features that make it easy to see why that would be the case.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Garmin is running a big sale on Amazon today that slashes the Garmin Forerunner 645 smartwatch to $285. That’s a terrific price for a smartwatch that retails for as much as $450 depending on the model you choose. While the watch works with Android devices and iPhones alike, it will likely only appeal to Android users today. Why? Because Amazon is offering the Apple Watch Series 3 right now at its lowest prices ever in both the 38 mm and 42 mm sizes, and it features much better integration with iOS than any third-party model ever could.

The Apple Watch is the greatest iPhone accessory Apple has ever made for one simple reason: it replaces the iPhone for so many things. You no longer need to take out your phone to see notifications, respond to texts and iMessages, control smart home devices with Siri, and so much more. You also have access to zero-touch information thanks to the Apple Watch’s complications, which are basically the widgets Apple has never allowed on the iPhone’s home screen.

Spend a day or two with the Apple Watch and you’ll see how great it is. You’ll also never be able to go back to life without one. Now happens to be the perfect time to discover for yourself what all the full is about because Amazon is selling the Apple Watch at its lowest price ever. Pick up a 38 mm Apple Watch Series 3 right now for just $179, or you can jump to the larger 42 mm Apple Watch Series 3 for $209. Those are both $20 discounts compared to the new lower price of the Series 3 model, but these prices definitely won’t last long.

Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS, 38mm) – Space Gray Aluminum Case with Black Sport Band: $179.00

Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS, 42mm) – Silver Aluminum Case with White Sport Band: $209.00

Here are some of the key details from the Apple Watch Series 3 page on Apple’ website:

  • See how much you Move, Exercise, and Stand.
  • Track every way you work out.
  • Splashproof. Swimproof. Surfproof.
  • Store your favorite songs. Or stream over 60 million with Apple Music.
  • Get the exact workout metrics you need. Down to the decimal.
  • Never miss a call. Say what?
  • Just raise your wrist to ask Siri.
  • Ping your iPhone. Hear and see where it’s hiding.
  • Pay for coffee, buy lunch, or send money to a friend with Apple Pay.
  • Discover a world of possibilities with the App Store on your watch.
  • Get a tap when it’s time to turn with Maps.
  • Unlock your Mac just by wearing your watch.
  • Show your true colors with interchangeable bands.
  • Stay in the know with notifications.
  • Take a breather with guided mindfulness.
  • Track your menstrual cycle with a tap.
  • Call emergency services right from your wrist.
  • Keep an eye on your heart with heart health notifications.
  • Call. Text. Stream. Available cellular connectivity lets you do it all without your phone.

Watch live right here as SpaceX launches NASA astronauts into space

  • NASA and SpaceX will launch a historic mission to the International Space Station today at 4:33 p.m. EDT.
  • A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will carry SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule to the ISS from Kennedy Space Center.
  • The launch will be live-streamed online, and you can watch the pre-launch coverage and the launch itself right here.

NASA and SpaceX are about to make history. The space agency’s Commercial Crew program sought to launch astronauts into space, and SpaceX’s Crew Dragon is about to fulfill that promise for the first time. The launch, which will take place from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, is scheduled for 4:33 p.m. EDT, and it’s probably the biggest NASA event in recent memory.

As you’d expect from both NASA and SpaceX, the launch is being live-streamed so everyone can enjoy the historic moment from the comfort of their own couches. There are several platforms on which NASA is hosting a stream of the event, including YouTube and Twitch, but lucky for you, you can also watch it right here.

How did you ever watch TV without this brilliant $22 Fire TV Stick accessory?

%name How did you ever watch TV without this brilliant $22 Fire TV Stick accessory? by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Even if you have a TV with built-in smart TV capabilities, most people still opt for a third-party streaming media player like Amazon’s Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, and other Fire TV devices.
  • These devices offer much better user experiences than smart TVs and they also feature support for every streaming app you can imagine, whereas smart TV platforms typically don’t support all the apps you want.
  • While there’s no question that Fire TV devices are terrific on their own, there’s an awesome accessory called the SofaBaton F2 that you’ll definitely want to check out because it adds key features that Amazon’s Alexa voice remote are currently missing.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Straight out of the box, Amazon’s various Fire TV devices like the Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, and Fire TV Cube offer one of the best streaming media player experiences you can get right now. Personally, I really prefer it to Roku devices. It’s not that Roku players are bad or anything. In fact, far from it — Roku is still the biggest streaming media player brand out there right now. It’s just that I am personally not a fan of the Roku user interface, and that’s why I choose Fire TV devices instead.

If you’re team Fire TV as well, you know how great the user experience is that Amazon has designed. The UI is great, the interface is nice and fast, and you can easily find an app for literally any streaming service you can possibly imagine. As a matter of fact, if you ask me, there’s really only one place where Fire TV devices like the Fire TV Stick are lacking: Amazon’s Alexa voice remote.

Amazon recently added some universal remote buttons to its remote that allow you to control the volume on your TV or soundbar and mute the sound. It’s a nice addition but truthfully, it’s not enough. That’s where my favorite new Fire TV accessory comes into play. It’s called the SofaBaton F2 Universal Remote Attachment for Amazon Fire TV Streaming Players, and it’s on sale right now on Amazon at a deep discount.

SofaBaton F2 Universal Remote Attachment for Amazon Fire TV Streaming Player with Power Volume…: $21.99

The SofaBaton F2 is basically a simple universal remote control that’s built to attach to Amazon’s remotes. It doesn’t make the remote any wider, just longer, and that’s key to a comfortable design that fits well in your hand. In addition to power, volume, and mute buttons like you would find on Amazon’s newer Alexa voice remote, you also get channel buttons, three configurable buttons that can do anything, and an input button so you can switch your TV’s input. That last one is crucial.

When I bought my SofaBaton F2 it was $40 on Amazon and it’s definitely worth every penny. Snag one today, however, and you’ll find a $16 discount plus an extra $2 coupon you can clip to drop the price to just $21.99 total. Trust me, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without one.

China is already changing its coronavirus origin story

%name China is already changing its coronavirus origin story by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • The coronavirus origin story just changed, as China confirmed the wet market in Wuhan wasn’t the source of COVID-19.
  • The news comes from the country’s top epidemiologist expert and follows a separate denial from the Wuhan lab officials who reiterated the coronavirus had not escaped from the facility, and the pathogens researched at the institute do not resemble SARS-CoV-2.
  • China hasn’t provided a new explanation, and the world may never identify COVID-19 Patient Zero.

Who was the first patient infected with the novel coronavirus? That’s something China failed has to address so far, and the lack of an answer is what helped fuel conspiracy theories that the virus had been engineered in a lab and somehow escaped. The official story used to be that animals from the Wuhan wet market helped pass COVID-19 to humans and that the virus originated in a bat. Scientists were able to prove beyond any doubt that the virus did indeed evolve naturally, and we’ve had this data for months now. A few weeks ago, top US intelligence officials confirmed they agree with the general scientific consensus that the virus couldn’t have been made by man. But that still left the possibility that the virus escaped a research facility in Wuhan city, where the virus could have been studied.

China has repeatedly denied such claims, reiterating just a few days ago that none of the bat viruses that Wuhan researchers study are related to SARS-CoV-2. But, interestingly enough, China seems ready to admit that the novel coronavirus didn’t originate from the Wuhan wet market either. Where was the first person infected? We might never truly know the deadly virus’s origin story.

Apple’s newest 10.2-inch iPad is only $279, but it’s almost sold out

%name Apple’s newest 10.2 inch iPad is only $279, but it’s almost sold out by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • Apple’s 7th-generation iPad price is already quite fair, especially when you consider how expensive other iPad models are like the iPad Pro.
  • While $329 is indeed a great price for the entry-level model, a great sale right now on Amazon slashes up to $50 off Apple’s 10.2-inch iPad.
  • That means you can get a brand new iPad with 32GB of storage for just $279 — but only if you hurry, because two of the three color options are already sold out.
  • Visit BGR’s homepage for more stories.

Amazon always seems to promote its own Fire tablet devices far more than any other tablets on its website. It’s easy to see why, of course, and there’s nothing wrong with Amazon promoting its own devices. All three Fire tablet models also happen to offer a tremendous value, with prices starting at just $49.99 even when they’re not on sale with any discounts. That small sum gets you a terrific Android-powered tablet with a great user interface and a proprietary app store that gives you access to all the apps you might want.

Fire tablets are indeed terrific. But even at those rock bottom prices, and even with all of Amazon’s promotion, Amazon’s tablets still aren’t the best-selling models out there. No, that honor goes to the 7th-generation iPad, the entry-level model of which costs nearly seven times as much as Amazon’s most affordable tablet at its full retail price of $329. Of course, you get superior build quality, better performance, and iOS when you buy the iPad, and that’s why so many people are happy to spend the extra cash. If you pick one up today, however, you’ll save a ton of money if you hurry.

New Apple iPad (10.2-Inch, Wi-Fi, 32GB) – Space Gray (Latest Model): $279.00

Most SKUs of Apple’s 7th-Generation iPad tablet have been out of stock at Amazon for so long because they’re among the best-selling products in Amazon’s electronics category. When they were in stock, a few different sizes and color options were available with slight discounts. Hurry over to Amazon right now, however, and you’ll find that the 10.2-inch iPad is somehow back in stock in Space Gray with 32GB. What’s even crazier, however, is the fact that it’s on sale with a nice big $50 discount.

That cuts your cost to just $279, and you know you’re getting a good deal anytime you can score an iPad for under $300. You can also pick up a 128GB iPad right now in Space Gray and you’ll save $30. Every other iPad model is sold out right now and these two options will likely sell out soon, so hurry or you’ll miss out.

You might’ve accidentally missed your $1,200 stimulus check – here’s what to do

%name You might’ve accidentally missed your $1,200 stimulus check – here’s what to do by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley
  • In recent days, some taxpayers’ coronavirus stimulus checks have started to be distributed not as paper checks to be mailed — but rather as prepaid debit cards, loaded with the appropriate stimulus funds.
  • Some recipients, however, have accidentally thrown their stimulus check debit cards away, thinking they must be the result of a scam of some kind, according to local news accounts.
  • Here’s what to do if you accidentally miss your stimulus funds.

In the weeks following Congress’ passage back in March of a $2.2 trillion coronavirus relief package, one that included billions of dollars for direct stimulus payments to Americans, everyone has been waiting for their stimulus check to come in one of two ways. Either electronically, in the form of a direct deposit, or as a paper check delivered with a person’s regular mail. As of earlier this month, though, we’ve now passed the deadline set by the IRS for it to receive everyone’s bank details if they wanted a direct deposit, which means that going forward the IRS and the US Treasury Dept. will finish up depositing everyone’s stimulus checks electronically while also continuing to send out waves of checks in the mail.

In recent days, meanwhile, it was also announced that some taxpayers will get their money in an altogether different format — as a prepaid debit card. You can also use a web-based feature from the Post Office to track your money, which is probably a good idea to do since some people apparently haven’t realized their stimulus payment could be coming as a debit card and have been accidentally — are you ready for this? — throwing them away.

  • If you’re debating AirPods Pro vs. AirPods 2 like so many people do when they’re in the market for new true wireless earphones, today is the day you need to make your decision and pull the trigger.
  • What’s with the urgency, you ask? Apple’s wildly popular AirPods Pro, AirPods 2 with Wireless Charging Case, and entry-level AirPods 2 are all on sale right now on Amazon at their lowest prices ever.
  • AirPods Pro are down to $227.99 thanks to a price cut and an extra discount applied at checkout, and AirPods 2 are up to $50 off for a limited time.

If you saw the headline of this article and thought to yourself, what’s the big deal… Apple’s various AirPods models have been discounted on and off for months now on Amazon, we definitely don’t blame you. It’s true, Apple’s AirPods are never listed at their full retail prices these days at Amazon. But this week, things are different. Not only are AirPods Pro and AirPods 2 on sale, all three models of Apple’s true wireless earbuds are down to their lowest prices ever!

Starting with AirPods 2 with Wireless Charging Case since they have the biggest discount both in terms of dollar value and in terms of the percentage of the price drop, these $199 headphones can be had for just $149.98 today. That matches the new all-time low price that Amazon cut them to earlier this month, so you’ll never find a better deal on these earphones than this one. What’s more, they’re in stock right now and they ship out right away.

Apple AirPods with Wireless Charging Case: $149.98

Many people will still want active noise cancellation despite the $50 discount on AirPods 2 with wireless charging, so you’ll be happy to learn that Apple’s insanely popular AirPods Pro true wireless noise cancelling earbuds are still available right now at Amazon at the lowest price ever thanks to an additional discount that’s applied at checkout. They’re also in stock right now and shipping out within the week, so they’ll arrive in most locations around the country within just a few days.

Apple AirPods Pro: $227.99

Last but certainly not least, Apple’s entry-level AirPods 2 model is on sale as well right now at its all-time lowest price. $129.98 is a great price for these cord-free earbuds, but truth be told, you would have to be a bit crazy to buy these for $130 when you can upgrade to the model with the wireless charging case for just $20. That’s especially true right now, because Amazon’s best-selling 15W wireless charging pad that you can use to wirelessly charge your AirPods is on sale for just $8.99!

  • Sony recently updated the PS5 landing page on its website with a list of the console’s standout features, perhaps hinting at a reveal in the coming days.
  • Rumors have suggested that Sony plans to reveal the design of the PS5 in early June.
  • Mounting evidence seems to be pointing to a major PS5 event within the next few weeks.

The long wait that PlayStation fans have endured for the reveal of the PS5 might finally be coming to an end.

This week, Sony updated the PlayStation 5 landing page on its website for the first time since the system architecture deep dive was streamed back in March. A few lines of text are not all that exciting on their own, but all of the evidence appears to be pointing to an early June window for the long-awaited reveal of the next-gen console’s design and the first-party games currently being developed. Now we can add this update to the list.
