Some lucky gamers got a sneak peek of Destiny, Bungie’s new massively multiplayer shooter during a short First Look Alpha test earlier this month, but the beta test will bring in a much larger crowd. Unlike the alpha, the Destiny beta will be available on every current and last-gen console, including the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. PlayStation owners will get in first on July 17th, but Xbox gamers will be able to join before the end of the month.

Google did not spill any important details about Android L during its I/O keynote on Wednesday, so it’s not clear what the name of the new mobile operating system is, or its version number – some say it’s Android 5.0 Lollipop. It’s also not known what devices will be able to run it. With KitKat, Google tried to make Android compatible with devices sporting as little as 512MB of RAM, in order to reduce fragmentation, and it will be interesting to see whether the company will manage to do that with Android L as well. From the looks of it though, it appears that certain mid-range handsets will indeed be able to run the OS.

The Associated Press, via U.S. News and World Report, informs us that North Korea has now threatened to go to war with the United States unless our government blocks the film from being released.

Most smartwatches that we’ve seen haven’t exactly blown us away so far, but the hardware design team at Motorola really deserves a lot of credit for the Moto 360, an Android Wear-based smartwatch that looks absolutely terrific. Motorola has now posted a new video that gives us a nice up-close look at the Moto 360 and walks us through some of its basic functions, including how to turn the device on, how to bring up and respond to notification cards and how to use voice commands to ask Google questions. We still don’t know exactly when the Moto 360 is coming out and Motorola is only saying that it will release “later this summer.” However, it’s definitely the most anticipated smartwatch release outside of Apple’s still-to-be-revealed iWatch that we expect to see this fall. The full video follows below.

When developers lined up for their free smartwatches following Google’s keynote on Wednesday, another intriguing creation made its way into the goody bag, one that appeared to be slightly more affordable than the Android Wear devices. Google’s Cardboard project lets anyone transform their Android smartphones into a basic virtual reality headset using homemade materials, most notably a piece of cardboard.
