Samsung’s latest Galaxy Note 4 TV commercial may be iPhone-free, as the South Korean giant focuses on repeating the word “Note” over and over rather than mocking Apple, but that doesn’t mean Samsung is done taking hits at its biggest rival in the mobile business. Phone Arena recently discovered a Samsung print ad for the Galaxy Note 4 features a blueprint of Samsung’s phablet and a clear message telling Apple that with its future iPhones it should look for inspiration in Samsung’s upcoming phablet.

Apple’s iPhone 6 #Bendgate controversy is far from over, even though Apple already revealed that very few customers have complained about such issues and Consumer Reports performed some thorough tests that prove the iPhone 6 models don’t bend as easily as expected. One person with some knowledge of the physics behind “Bendgate” seems to have figured out why the iPhone 6 Plus bends when enough force is applied to a certain part of the phone. Apparently, it’s not because the iPhone 6 is made of thin aluminum, but because of a different internal element that isn’t providing enough resistance.

One of the funniest moments in The Wire comes when Stringer Bell notices one of his gang’s members has been keeping minutes during a meeting about the foundation of a citywide alliance between rival drug dealers. The device might not bend, but buyers in South Korea have already noticed a manufacturing issue affecting some of the first Galaxy Note 4 units: Apparently, there’s a gap where there shouldn’t be.

If you’re still using an iPhone 4S, odds are fairly good that you’ve learned to hold off on installing major software updates on your iPhone. While new versions of iOS bring great and exciting new features, they also can bring slowed performance or even bogging to older Apple devices. Early reports suggested that this was indeed the case for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 when Apple’s iOS 8 update was released earlier this month, and we even shared a way to roll back to iOS 7.1 for users who couldn’t deal with the performance issues.
Now that two updates have been released for iOS 8, however, it may finally be safe to update those older devices.

Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus debut was the biggest launch in the history of smartphones. Through the new handsets’ opening weekend alone, Apple sold more than 10 million combined iPhone 6 and 6 Plus units, topping the 9 million iPhone 5s and 5c handsets the company sold during their debut weekend in 2013. It may seem as though Apple’s iPhone launch weekend didn’t see much growth this year, but that’s actually not the case at all — as we’ve noted before, the fact that the iPhone 6 didn’t launch in China changes things dramatically.
