Walmart recently unveiled its new trial program aimed at taking on Amazon Prime: For $50 a year, you’ll be able to get unlimited three-day shipping for products you order through the giant retailer. This is $49 less than the $99 that Amazon Prime charges users every year for free two-day shipping and other perks, although Rather Be Shopping points out that Amazon’s deal could still deliver stronger value depending on your needs.

During the company’s presentation, Apple revealed that iOS 9 will feature some big improvements that focus on battery life. Interestingly, the company said that iOS 9 will improve an iOS device’s battery life by about an hour just by installing it.

Apple’s unveiling of a Flipboard-like news hub during its annual developer conference Monday didn’t come as a surprise to the team behind the now 5-year-old news reader and content curation app.
Not only has Flipboard “known about this product for a while,” CEO Mike McCue told BGR, but his company has in fact had Apple’s attention more or less from day one. BGR has learned about a little known episode from Flipboard’s early days, for example, when Apple cofounder Steve Jobs himself reportedly visit the office of the Palo Alto-based company, where he was shown the product and left impressed by the design and polish.
McCue, naturally, declines to disclose any details about that encounter or about the myriad acquisition rumors that have floated around the company since then. Rumors about potential buyers have ranged from Apple to the more recent news that Flipboard and Twitter have reportedly held talks about the latter acquiring the former.

iOS 9 is coming later this year but Apple still isn’t done releasing new versions of iOS 8 just yet. Apple on Tuesday released its fourth beta for iOS 8.4, which will be the first version of iOS to include support for Apple’s recently announced Apple Music streaming service. The new beta, which is available over at Apple’s developer center right now, focuses on integrating Apple Music into iOS, just as all previous betas of iOS 8.4 have done.

I’ll say this for Apple Music: I think it will do a lot better than Tidal. OK, so beyond the obvious, I think Apple Music will actually do pretty well. After all, it’s going to come preloaded onto the most popular individual smartphone in the world and it’s going to be marketed to a customer base that is fanatically loyal to its favorite brand, including some who have proclaimed they’ll buy “ANYTHING” Apple makes. The bottom line is it’s going to be successful.

Apple says iOS 9 will offer you “a better experience with every touch,” on the special iOS 9 page on its website, stressing that the newly introduced update focuses on bringing performance improvements rather than major new features. And while iOS 9 is similar to iOS 8 overall when it comes to design and appearance, there are plenty of changes under the hood compared last year’s major iOS release.

It is not at all hyperbole to say that the DARPA Robotics Challenge gives us a glimpse of the future. Robotics experts come together to have their hi-tech creations compete on a course that simulates a disaster area. As a result of efforts like these, robots will someday assist men and women in emergency response situations, helping to remove them from harm’s way whenever possible.
As it turns out, however, there are some hilarious bloopers to enjoy on the road to realizing that future.
