Apple Music’s bar for success just got higher. Spotify on Wednesday reported that it now has 20 million paid subscribers, up from the 15 million paid subscribers it had in January. In total, Spotify now has 75 million users, up from the 60 million users it reported earlier this year. The new paid subscribers number is also double the 10 million paid subscribers that Spotify reported in May of 2014.

In addition to what Apple was willing to show off on stage at WWDC 2015, more and more hidden iOS 9 features are coming to light as users discover them in the first beta release. The growing list now includes a neat Photos app trick that you’ve recently seen in Google Photos, and that is apparently already built into the next version of iOS.

Microsoft’s Surface Hub will do for tablet computers what Crocodile Dundee once did for knives — that is, it will show us how puny the ones we use every day really are. Microsoft’s massive new tablet isn’t meant to be a consumer device, of course, and it’s being targeted straight at the enterprise market. The device has an 84-inch diagonal and it will cost $20,000, which should put it out of reach of the average PC user.

With the True Detective season 2 premiere now less than two weeks away, HBO has impressively been able to keep the show’s plot lines under wraps. One of the big complaints we’ve heard about the Galaxy S6 so far has been about its supposedly poor RAM management that is leading to apps crashing much more frequently than they have on previous flagship Samsung phones. However, SamMobile points out that one XDA Developer has come up with what looks like a simple fix to this problem, although you should be warned that it will require rooting your phone first.

A couple of weeks ago, iPhone owners the world over started receiving odd text messages from their mischievous friends — texts which promptly shut down their devices. This bizarre bug had something to do with how banner notifications process Unicode text, which is what appears in the odd string of text.
Apple provided a workaround shortly after the bug was reported, but today we found out that the official fix has been included in iOS 8.4 beta 4.
