Apple’s WWDC 2015 keynote was an extremely long presentation that was packed full of details about its upcoming new software and services. As long as the event was, however, it could have been 10 times longer and Apple still wouldn’t have had enough time to fit in all of the great new features it added to its two software platforms, iOS and OS X.
Where iOS is concerned, Apple ran through some terrific-looking top-level highlights, but developers (and everyone else with an Apple developer account) have now had plenty of time to dig through the first iOS 9 beta, so details on new features that Apple didn’t cover at WWDC continue to trickle out.

Even before Apple acquired Beats, there existed a loud contingent of audiophiles who were quick to dismiss Beats by Dre Headphones as overpriced pieces of junk with mediocre sound, at best. The popularity of Beats, they often argued, was nothing more than clever marketing ably masking a run of the mill product.
Marketing, as it turns out, was the one thing most everyone could agree Beats did exceedingly well. By getting its headphones into the hands of well-known sports stars and music personalities, Beats successfully crafted a brand image that conveyed luxury with a splash of street cred. But once we get past the Beats branding and look at the actual product itself, it turns out that Beats headphones aren’t quite as luxurious as you may have initially thought.

Microsoft had a heck of an E3 this year. From the first announcement to the last demonstration, the company’s E3 press conference was a fan-favorite in 2015. And the company’s Minecraft demo on HoloLens was absolutely mind-blowing. It was a much-needed win for Microsoft, which has been lagging behind Sony since their current-generation video game consoles first launched ahead of the holidays in 2013.
The first announcement Microsoft made during its E3 event was Xbox One backwards compatibility, which will allow Xbox One owners to play many of their old Xbox 360 games on their new consoles. PS4 owners have been wondering whether or not the same feature would be added to the PlayStation 4, and now they finally have their answer.

If you’ve ever brewed beer then you know what really gives it its distinctive flavor is its hops. Without hops, beer would be an overly sweet concoction made of malted barley, yeast and water. With hops, however, beer acquires a bitterness that balances out the sweetness of the other ingredients. But unfortunately, it seems hops also have an unwanted side effect: They give you man boobs.

Everybody handles breakups differently, and a German man has found a hilarious (albeit demented) out-of-the-box way to express his anger with his ex-wife. The two have been together for 12 years before splitting up, so the handy man took it upon itself to split in half everything they owned with help of a saw and other power tools. And then put his share up for sale on eBay.

Last November, I half-jokingly said that the iPhone might be killing you softly while talking about two medical studies that detailed smartphone-related conditions. In particular, one of them said that most smartphone users might be hurting their necks by looking down at the device, especially when reading and texting. As it turns out, such heavy smartphone use does have unwanted effects on your body, including “searing headaches,” new report claims.

It was pretty obvious that Bethesda’s new iPhone game Fallout Shelter would be a hit from the moment it was announced on Sunday. Fallout is one of the most beloved IPs around and Fallout 4 is one of this year’s most highly anticipated games. That said, I’m not sure anyone thought Bethesda’s mobile game would ever be this successful.

I’m a big fan of Google services but there are limits to what I’ll subject myself to in the name of convenience. That limit was definitely reached this week with the announcement of the Nest Cam home security camera that’s designed as a major competitor for Dropcam. The camera itself isn’t anything to freak out about, but I really do not understand why anyone would take Google up on its Nest Aware offer that will record everything in your house and analyze it constantly.
