Volkswagen, the giant German carmaker that became an iconic brand for the car industry over the years, is currently in a sea o troubles – troubles that it caused itself by cheating on emissions tests with various diesel cars with help of special software that. VW confirmed on Monday that as many as 11 million diesel cars have software that’s used to detect tests, and cheat on emission tests.

Apple is currently working on fixing the largest security breach in the history of the App Store after hackers infiltrated malware inside genuine apps by fooling developers to download a compromised iOS app making software version. Even though Apple said it has removed apps that contained malicious code, security firms said that some app versions still contained malware. But the good news, for affected customers, is that Apple will now notify you if you have installed apps compromised by the XcodeGhost malware.
More importantly, Apple says that user data is safe, as the code couldn’t have stolen critical personal information such as Apple ID credentials.

After spending several hours with the Arena multiplayer beta at the beginning of the year and going hands-on with the new Warzone mode at E3, Halo 5: Guardians has quickly become one of my most anticipated games of 2015.

Call us crazy, but we’re pretty sure Apple secured a fan for life this week. 17-year-old Massachusetts resident Paul Houle this past weekend was finishing up football practice when his Apple Watch alerted him that his heart rate was abnormal. He eventually went to the hospital to seek treatment and learned that he had rhabdomyolysis, a condition that can lead to heart, liver and kidney failure if not treated. In other words, his Apple Watch’s heartbeat alerts probably saved his life.

Have you ever heard of the drug Daraprim? Probably not. Nonetheless, it’s a drug that’s used by people with HIV to help fight off potentially deadly parasitic infections. The company with the rights to this drug is Turing Pharmaceuticals and it’s run by a man named Martin Shkreli, a former hedge-fund manager who’s bringing a Wall Street attitude to the pharmaceutical industry. After acquiring Daraprim earlier this year, Shkreli decided to raise its price from $13.50 per tablet to $750 per tablet, despite the fact that this is not a new medicine, it isn’t facing massive shortages, and it doesn’t cost anywhere close to $750 per tablet for the company to produce.

The number of Apple Music trial subscribers has reportedly increased by about 36% in just the last six weeks. According to a report in the New York Post, there are now 15 million people subscribed to Apple’s nascent music service, a sizable bump from the 11 million figure Apple quoted in early August.
The report further adds that about half of Apple Music users haven’t turned off the service’s auto-pay toggle, the obvious implication being that Apple may soon have a significant number of paying subscribers.

In an initiative dubbed The Million Dollar iOS 9 Bug Bounty, Zerodium CEO Chaouki Bekrar is offering upwards of $3 million to anyone or group of people who can come up with a way to jailbreak iOS 9.
Zerodium is specifically seeking an exclusive, browser or text message-based, “workable, remote and untethered jailbreak that will persist even after reboot.” The rules add that the exploit should be achievable without requiring any proactive action from users beyond visiting a webpage or reading a text message.
