Last month, we were one of the first sites to tell you about a serious security flaw in iOS that allowed anyone to quickly and easily access your contacts, photos and more without having to know your PIN. The flaw involved entering an incorrect PIN several times and then triggering Siri, which then opened up the door to a wealth of private data. Some Apple fans tried to downplay the flaw, but it looks like Apple fully understood just how severe it was, because the company has addressed it in a brand new version of iOS.

Google unveiled the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P during a special media event on Tuesday, though the company wasn’t really able to surprise Nexus fans with its announcements. Multiple thorough leaks revealed the design, specs, features and pricing for the two new handsets well ahead of the event.
However, Google revealed additional details about the devices during a special Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) session on Reddit. Among other things, the company explained the new product names, the lack of wireless charging, and the weaker camera performance on the Nexus 5X.

In early 2013 when “iTV” rumors were swirling at full force, analysts were tripping over themselves trying to add fuel to the fire. Research notes covered things like panel size, release timeframe, pricing and features, and the media covered them all fairly widely. Of course, Apple’s much rumored iTV never materialized, and it doesn’t look like the company has plans to launch an HDTV anytime soon.
Amid those analyst reports was one in particular that was by far the most ridiculous, absurd, outlandish Apple rumor we have ever seen… and as it turns out, it was probably accurate.

We’ve all been there: It’s nearly 2 in the morning and your cruising around the Internet looking for new domain names to purchase. I mean, talk about a cliched night, right?

Google does a tremendous job updating its maps and navigation software for smartphones, frequently releasing new versions of Google Maps that bring over several interesting tricks meant to make traveling an enjoyable experience. The company quietly released a new Google Maps update for Android, bringing the app to version 9.15, which can be downloaded right away.

Apple on Wednesday released a minor update for iOS 9 meant to fix additional issues found in its latest version, including a screen unlock vulnerability. On top of rolling out iOS 9.0.2 to supported devices, the company also stopped signing older version of iOS, including iOS 8.4.1 and iOS 9, which means that a downgrade to a previous operating system version isn’t possible any longer.

One particularly funny episode of the sitcom Community imagined the dire consequences of what would happen if a smartphone app gave you the power to rate everyone you know from one star to five. Amazingly, one company took a look at the show’s predicted dystopian future of ruined friendships and thought it was a great idea. As The Washington Post reports, a new app called Peeple is set to go live in November that will let you rate all of your fellow humans from one star to five stars. This is no way this won’t end in tears.
