If there’s one common refrain we often hear from Android fans, it’s that the experience you get with the stock version of Android is always better than whatever version of Android has been modified by manufacturers such as Samsung, LG and HTC. But is this always true? Recently Pocketnow decided to do an in-depth comparison of the Nexus 6P and the Galaxy S7 edge and it discovered that while there are advantages to using stock Android, they don’t always outweigh the advantages of new features added by OEMs.

Doom and gloom has reached new heights ever since Apple reported its earnings last week for the March quarter. Should Apple take a page from Google’s playbook and try more moonshots?

Given all of the bizarre advice that analysts and pundits seem to be throwing at Apple these days, you might be forgiven for thinking that the company was in dire straits. From calls to acquire Netflix to pleas to snatch up Tesla and bring Elon Musk on board, the level of panic surrounding Apple’s future might have you believe that the company is losing money and, in the span of just one quarter, has lost its ability to innovate.

That sentiment, however, couldn’t be farther from the truth. Apple’s most recent quarter admittedly didn’t measure up to last year’s earnings report, but the company still managed to post $50 billion in revenue and $10 billion in profits, more than Google, Facebook and Microsoft combined. Furthermore, with the iPhone 7 release looming, we’d all be well advised to perhaps be patient, at least for a few months, and see what type of innovations Apple has in store for us when it releases its next-gen iPhone.

Apple Music is now 50% cheaper for students

%name Apple Music is now 50% cheaper for students by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Apple Music might not be any better than rival services like Spotify, but there’s little question that it’s better integrated into the iOS platform and that’s where Apple has an edge. Rumor also has it that the Apple Music app is about to get a big overhaul that will be unveiled next month during Apple’s big WWDC event in mid-June. This is big news for several reasons, but mainly because iOS device users have voiced serious concerns about the app’s functionality and usability.

The company doesn’t always get things right the first time when it comes to apps and web services, but Apple almost always comes around eventually so we’re definitely looking forward to a reimagined Apple Music experience. In the meantime, Apple is sweetening the deal a bit ahead of its big redo: If you’re a student, you can now subscribe to Apple Music for half price.

In the early hours of the morning while you were sound asleep, the SpaceX team was hard at work. Elon Musk’s private space exploration endeavor on Friday attempted its most daring feat yet: landing its reusable Falcon 9 rocket on a drone ship at sea after launching it into space to deploy a satellite and supplies to the International Space Station.

Those who were awake to watch the mission unfold were prepared for the worst — after all, we’ve seen Space X rockets destroyed time after time while attempting far less dangerous feats. But the stars were apparently aligned on May 6th, and the reusable rocket touched down successfully.
