Apple has done a horrible job advertising the iPhone XR

%name Apple has done a horrible job advertising the iPhone XR by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

A few days ago, I got a text from a family member asking me if it’s worth buying the iPhone XRS — and no, that’s not a typo. A few weeks earlier when I was home for Thanksgiving, a friend excitedly told me that he just picked up a brand new iPhone. When I asked him what model he bought, he said, “I’m not sure exactly, I think it may be the iPhone 8XR or something.”

The problem here is apparent: laypeople aren’t exactly sure what the iPhone XR is and Apple has done an uncharacteristically horrible job of advertising the device to the public. Also problematic is that the average person simply has no idea how the iPhone XR differs from the iPhone XS in a meaningful way. What’s more, the names of the devices themselves don’t help clue customers in. Sure, the iPhone XS Max can easily be pegged as a larger device, but Apple’s iPhone XR/XS naming scheme is a convoluted mess that Apple has historically avoided.

Galaxy S10+ leak shows the screen alone will be as big as the entire Galaxy Note 7

%name Galaxy S10+ leak shows the screen alone will be as big as the entire Galaxy Note 7 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The hallmark feature of the Galaxy Note phones was screen size when Samsung launched its first-generation phablet back in 2011. Since then, every Galaxy Note handset that followed featured a bigger display than the Galaxy S models that preceded them. Samsung has since developed new screen technologies that have allowed the company to reduce the side bezels of the phone by curving the display. The top and bottom bezels were trimmed as well, as Samsung moved features like the fingerprint sensor from the front of the phone to the back.

Fast-forward to 2018 and the Galaxy S9+ with its huge Infinity Display is almost as big as the Galaxy Note 9. Come next year, the Galaxy S10 will be made available in up to four sizes, each one of them featuring even better screen-to-body ratios than their predecessors thanks to a new Infinity-O screen design. And now a new leak tells us that the Galaxy S10+ display alone will be as big as the entire Galaxy Note 7

%name Amazon just announced its best selling electronics of the holidays – and they’re all still on sale by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Amazon on Wednesday announced that this past holiday shopping season was its most successful season ever, with more items ordered worldwide than ever before. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering how good the deals were this year across all of the most popular categories on Amazon’s site. Amazon didn’t share any specific numbers as far as sales go, and that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise since the company never shares specific sales volumes. It did announce some of its best-selling products across various categories though, and we’ve got some awesome news: Amazon’s best-selling products from this past holiday shopping season are still on sale right now.

Fire TV and Echo devices were popular this year, as they have been every year. Amazon also listed best-sellers from other categories like toys, where products like the L.O.L. Surprise! In the ever popular electronics category, six items topped the list and it just so happens that they’re all still on sale!

The Bose QuietComfort 35 (Series II) Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones were top-sellers this year, and they’re still available right now for $50 off, which is the same exact deal we saw on Black Friday and during Cyber Week. Samsung’s UN65NU8000FXZA Flat 65″ 4K UHD 8 Series Smart LED TV is also still on sale for more than $500 off, and Apple’s Space Gray iPad with 32GB of storage is still discounted as well, though it’s not as deep as it was during Cyber Week. Why is this the one thing Android phone makers won’t steal from the iPhone?

%name Why is this the one thing Android phone makers won’t steal from the iPhone? by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

This might be a difficult pill for hardcore Android fans to swallow, but the Android platform exists as it does today because of Apple’s iPhone. Seriously, watch Sergey Brin and Steve Horowitz’s original Android demo video from back in 2007, when Google gave the world its first look at the company’s new mobile platform.
