The Porsche Taycan is without question one of the most highly anticipated cars of 2019. Set to be officially revealed later this year, the Taycan represents Porsche’s first big push into the realm of electric cars and, from what we can tell so far, it might actually give Tesla a run for its money.

Spec wise, the Porsche Taycan isn’t messing around. Impressively, the Taycan boasts a 0-62 MPH time of 3.5 seconds and can hit a top speed in excess of 155 MPH. Equally as impressive, the Taycan will be able to travel upwards of 310 miles on a single charge. What’s more, Porsche has been working on a high-voltage supercharger network that will reportedly allow Taycan owners to charge up to 250 miles in just 20 minutes flat.

British police are still stumped about who was behind that airport drone incident

%name British police are still stumped about who was behind that airport drone incident by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

British police are still trying to get to the bottom of that incident from a few days before Christmas that’s still got them stumped — the incident involving drones spotted flying near Gatwick Airport, the second busiest in the UK, which temporarily shut down as a result of the sighting.

Reasons the police remain befuddled: They still don’t have any suspects. They don’t have the drones. And they don’t have a motive. All they know is the incident seemed purposeful, and it disrupted the holiday travel of more than 140,000 people in what officials say is the first such incident of its kind involving an airport anywhere in the world.

%name The 10 best movies and shows coming to Netflix in January 2019 by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Happy New Year, everyone! What better way to celebrate than with a metric ton of new shows and movies on Netflix? That’s exactly what the streaming service has in store for this month, with a bunch of new and returning originals set to drop over the course of the next few weeks. In terms of licensed content, January’s selection is highlighted by all four Indiana Jones movies, Pulp Fiction, The Dark Knight, The Departed, and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

As for originals, The Punisher returns for its sophomore season (and what will likely be its last season if Netflix plans to cancel all of its Marvel shows), while Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will wrap up its fourth and final season. And it didn’t quite make our list, but the third season of A Series of Unfortunate Events arrives this month too.

NASA’s asteroid probe just entered orbit around Bennu in a record-breaking maneuver

%name NASA’s asteroid probe just entered orbit around Bennu in a record breaking maneuver by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

NASA’s OSIRIS-REx asteroid probe arrived at its target, a large space rock known as Bennu, in early December. The spacecraft’s mission will take several years to complete, but it hit a major milestone to close out 2018 by entering orbit around Bennu. It might not sound like much, but it’s actually a major accomplishment for NASA, and it’s set a couple of new records in the process.

As AP reports, the probe’s successful maneuver to enter orbit around Bennu makes it the first spacecraft to orbit a celestial object so small. At only around 1,600 feet in diameter, it’s the smallest object ever to be successfully orbited, and OSIRIS-REx’s close orbital distance of just over a mile is also record-breaking.

This self-driving ‘hotel on wheels’ will take you to your destination in style

The “Uber for everything” boom in tech has led to plenty of on-demand solutions for everyday life, but one problem we didn’t even know existed is apparently mobile hotel rooms. A new concept for a rolling room just won an award for its forward thinking, but will it ever become a reality? We have out doubts.

The concept is called the Autonomous Travel Suite, or ATS for short. It comes from the mind of Steve Lee of the Aprilli Design Studio and it’s largely based on the self-driving vehicle technology of the future. The idea here is that instead of riding along in a car-like seat while a computer takes you to your destination, you’re actually free to move around the over-sized cabin.

If anyone needed a reminder that streaming outlets like Netflix are still a long way off from obliterating cinemas and keeping people from actually going to the movies, 2018 gave them a heck of a reminder.

The domestic box office earned an impressive $11.8 billion in revenue, according to preliminary data from Comscore. It represented the fifth time over the last seven years that the domestic box office beat its prior year total, with this year’s whopping haul driven by a slew of blockbuster titles like Black Panther.

If you forgot to make any New Year’s resolutions last night, here an easy one: Donate to charity. You can change lives by donating just a few dollars to a cause or group of your choice, and now, thanks to Google, it’s simpler than ever to do so. As reported by 9to5Google this week, Google Assistant recently gained the ability to make a donation with a voice command. This comes just weeks after a donation page was added to the Play Store.

In order to start the process, just say “Ok Google, donate to charity” to your Android device or Google Home. Google Assistant will then ask you which organization you’d like to donate to, and suggests donating $10. You then specify how much you would like to donate, in case you want to give more (or less) than $10.

And then there were two. With Netflix’s cancellation of three other Marvel series — Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage — that might suggest the fate of two other shows, Jessica Jones and The Punisher, is likewise precarious. Nevertheless, it would appear that Frank Castle is indeed returning soon for his spin-off’s sophomore season, according to a new teaser released today via social media.
