Yet another carrier has given up trying to buy T-Mobile

Is the “Un-carrier” unsellable? Bloomberg reports that French carrier Illiad has now given up its bid to buy T-Mobile from parent company Deutsche Telekom, thus making it the second carrier to fail at acquiring the scrappy mobile operator this year. Apparently Illiad decided to withdraw its bid after upping its offer to $36 per share to acquire 67% of the company, which was a boost from the $33 per share it offered to acquire 56.6% of the company this past summer. Despite this higher offer, Deutsche Telekom apparently remained uninterested in the proposal.

Case in point: Samsung this week announced the development of a new 60GHz Wi-Fi technology that will allow for peak download speeds of up to 4.6Gbps, an five-fold increase from the current top speeds of 866Mbps.

Google’s Chromecast is an incredibly intuitive take on the set-top box, but it has its limitations. For example, it’s not much of a games console, but Concept96 hopes to change that with its very first casual game designed specifically for the Chromecast. In its Kickstarter campaign, Concept96 is asking for just £1000 (~$1600) to build Buzzb, a multiplayer quiz game that lifts videos and music from YouTube, Soundcloud and other online sources.
