One of the biggest features that Google has added with Android 6.0 Marshmallow is Doze Mode, which the company promises will significantly improve your Android device’s battery life when it’s not being actively used. Doze Mode essentially forces apps to stay asleep when you aren’t using your phone, which not only prevents them from syncing but also prevents them from constantly consuming battery life while they’re running in the background. If early impressions are any indication, it seems Google has delivered on its promise of better battery life when your device is idle.

Apple purchased one more company that will help it bring more intelligent features to its iPhone and iPad in the future, after confirming last week it bought British start-up VocalIQ that might help it boost the powers of Siri. The new acquisition will also likely be used to expand further the iPhone’s smart feature, with a massive trick. Unlike Google, which needs access to a treasure trove of personal data to enable cool Google Now and other automated features, Apple might not require access to that much information about the user.

Not too long ago, OnePlus launched its second smartphone, a hot high-end Android handset that’s so reasonably priced that millions of buyers were looking to score one immediately after launch. Yet some Android fans found reasons to complain about the phone, saying the device still doesn’t meet some of their requirements. One of the biggest complaints regarding the OnePlus 2 – aside from the silly invite-based purchase system – was lack of NFC, but the company will apparently fix that in an upcoming smartphone whose specs sheet seems to have been leaked.

With the recent release of iOS 9.0.2, Apple has finally resolved a bug that prevented developers from taking advantage of an iOS 9 feature called App Thinning.
