So many pundits, bloggers and technology journalists focus on telling you what’s best. This is the best phone. These are the best apps. I do it too, though I often try to explain exactly why the device I’m covering is the best for the widest range of users. This time, however, I’m going to forget about what’s best for you and focus instead on what’s best for me. And if your priorities are at least somewhat aligned with mine, it’ll likely be what’s best for you as well.

Tesla’s recently introduced battery packs, for both home and utility use, are already proving to be tremendous successes. If you recall, Tesla last week introduced a Powerwall battery pack (available in 7kWh and 10kWh configurations) for home owners alongside a Powerpack battery designed for corporate use and utility companies.

During Tesla’s earnings conference call this week, CEO Elon Musk said that the response to Tesla’s new batteries has been overwhelming and “crazy off the hook.” Impressively, the Powerwall has already yielded 38,000 reservations while the industrial-oriented Powerpack has netted 2,500 reservations.

It’s no secret that Nokia’s Here mapping service is for sale, with the Finnish company having received various bids from third-parties interested in the maps and navigation business. Google, Apple, Microsoft and Facebook have been rumored to be among the interested companies. Similarly, a consortium of German automakers, including BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz, are also looking to purchase Here. Finally, Uber, a popular taxi service in many countries, is also looking to acquire Nokia’s maps division.
