Video: The world’s fastest keyboard just set a new record on the iPhone 6 Plus
Fleksy, the holder of the Guinness World Records title for the world’s fastest smartphone keyboard is now even faster, the company on Tuesday announced. Fleksy, initially available on Android, is also a popular iOS 8 keyboard application and the company used the iPhone 6 Plus to shatter its previous record.

This might be the single most annoying thing about the Nexus 6… but there’s an easy fix
Nexus 6 units have already started shipping to early buyers, and while many of them may be using the huge Lollipop-running phablet as their daily driver, not all of them are so lucky. It looks like Google has found another way of messing up the Nexus 6 launch — in addition to only having a very limited number of Nexus 6 units to go around, thus preventing many from buying the handset — and that’s adding the phones’ unique IMEI codes to carrier databases, so that mobile operators can activate the Nexus 6 on their networks.

Apple’s new Yosemite update reportedly didn’t fix the annoying Wi-Fi bug for everyone
Apple’s OS X 10.10 Yosemite update was released to the public last month, and it was a massive update. The new software featured a big user interface overhaul that helped modernize the look of OS X a bit, and it also added a number of great new features such as redesigned Spotlight search and Continuity. Unfortunately, for many users the update also introduced an extremely annoying Wi-Fi connection bug, and it looks like Apple’s just-released OS X 10.10.1 update didn’t solve the problem for everyone.

Apple’s mobile payment solution is already off to a great start, according to various reports which say Apple Pay is more popular than any existing alternative, and is helping other NFC-based contactless payments products that have been available to smartphone users for a number of years pick up steam. KTLA’s The Tech Report has further detailed Apple Pay in a video segment featuring Apple’s senior vice president of Internet software and services Eddy Cue who took Rich DeMuro out for a quick Apple Pay shopping spree.

Samsung will finally give up on gadget spam next year
Samsung has used smartphone buyers in previous years to seeing a wide variety of Galaxy-branded smartphone and tablet versions in stores, as the company tried to meet all the various smartphone requirements customers might have, both when it comes to features and prices. While the smartphone spam strategy worked well in Samsung’s favor for a few years, helping the Korean giant get a large share of the Android market by selling plenty of entry-level and mid-range handsets on top of flagship devices, that might not be enough for the company anymore, whose mobile division isn’t as profitable as it used to be.

One of the best Android launchers just got even better – and you can finally download it
Nokia surprised the mobile community this past summer when the company unveiled its first ever Android app, Z Launcher. With its devices and services business out of the way and its obligations to Microsoft regarding Windows Phone gone, the company wasted no time in embracing Google’s mobile platform.
Z Launcher, a nifty and intelligent Android launcher that places a user’s most popular apps on the home screen and changes based on the time of the day, was initially released as a pre-beta intended to be made available to 10,000 initial testers.
By the end of its first day of availability, Z Launcher had been downloaded 100,000 times and Nokia had to stop accepting new users.
