Big update brings new features to the ‘Netflix for Pirates’ app for Android
The developers behind Popcorn Time have come up with a new version for Android devices, available in beta starting today, and its main new feature is offline playback support. In other words, users who like streaming videos through “Netflix for Pirates” will be able to do so even when there’s no Internet connection available.

Virtual Reality will allow this man to live someone else’s life for a month
Virtual reality is getting better and better, with companies such as Facebook, Samsung, Google and others growing more interested in offering such entertainment options to customers in the future. But one artist is already determined to push his limits and experiment virtual reality in a completely different way — and he’s looking for your help to make it possible.
Mark Farid wants to wear a VR headset for 28 days and experience life events as lived by another person. To make it possible, he needs to raise £150,000 (around $234,557) on Kickstarter in the coming month.

Back to the Future fans are surely familiar with Marty McFly’s special auto-lacing shoes from the future, and many of them may have been dreaming about wearing them one day. Interestingly, as we’re getting closer to 2015, the year when Marty arrives in the future, a company is getting ready to launch the first shoes with auto-lacing capabilities — and while the Powerlace P-One shoes look nothing like the sneakers in the movie, they certainly seem able to get the job done.

The iPhone 6 Plus camera has a huge problem for some users
The camera on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has both been highly praised in many reviews, including several in-depth hands-on experiences from pro photographers. Of course, the iPhone 6 Plus is always seen as being slightly better than its smaller sibling thanks to its camera’s optical image stabilization (OIS). But it looks like some iPhone 6 Plus units are behaving rather strangely for users when taking pictures and recording videos.

Another Android 5.0 Lollipop bug is driving Android users up the wall
As the highly anticipated Android 5.0 update begins to roll out, many Android users are excited to see just how much has changed. There are plenty of new features and a gorgeous, updated user interface, but there also appear to be a few bugs worth watching out for.
On Monday, Android 5.0 users began reporting that the update had removed Silent Mode from their phones entirely. On Tuesday, José Alvarez Núñez found another issue.

New tests suggest Apple skimped on a key iPhone 6 component and it’s causing problems
Certain iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners, as well as some iPad users, have complained about random crashes and reboots on smartphones that have 64GB or 128GB of storage and hold large libraries of apps. Various reports trying to explain the problem have identified the type of NAND memory chosen for these iPhone 6 models as the main culprit, with some suggesting that Apple is already considering moving from triple cell (TLC) NAND memory to multi-level cell (MLC) storage in future iPhone 6 versions.
Apple has not confirmed those reports, and has not explained why 64GB iPhone 6 and 128GB iPhone 6 Plus devices seem to crash in certain circumstances. But a new report from Korean publication KBench shows benchmark tests for both TLC and MLC NAND memory modules used in 64GB iPhone 6 units, and they reveal that the latter offers a better performance than the former.
