Office users waiting for the big 2016 update from Microsoft should be thrilled to hear the company may be gearing up for a September 22nd release for its new Office suite. The new Office 2016 software for Windows follows a similar version for Mac, which was released in July.

Comcast to offer gigabit Internet nationwide by 2018
Though maligned for its customer support and billing practices, the one thing Comcast decidedly does well is offer fast Internet service. In recent nationwide testing, SpeedTest.net found that Comcast is the fastest nationwide ISP in the country. And now comes word that the company’s fast Internet is about to get a whole lot faster.
During a recent interview with FierceCable, Comcast VP of network architecture Robert Howald said that Comcast has plans to offer gigabit Internet service to all of its customers by 2018.

Huge T-Mobile Back To School deals: Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 4 and other discounted Androids
“Class is in session,” a new deals page says on T-Mobile’s website, signaling that a particular Back To School sale on mobile devices has just kicked off. The “Un-carrier” has discounted the price on many top smartphones, including top Samsung devices like the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S5 the Galaxy Note 4. However, T-Mobile’s two-day deal only includes Android devices, so don’t expect to see any iPhones in this Back To School sale.

Not-so-instant messaging: The oldest message in a bottle is found 108 years later
We live in a world where we crave instant results, instant iMessage responses and immediate rewards. And technology makes it all happen. Just pull whatever smartphone you favor out of your pocket and you’ll get lots of digital content to keep you entertained, and – most importantly – access to instant communications.
But that wasn’t the case in the more distant past, when other messaging techniques were the norm, including messages in bottles. The oldest such message was found on a beach in Germany this April, after being released into the sea sometime between 1904 and 1906.

Comcast: We’re ready for 4K distribution today
While there’s no disputing that the picture quality of 4K content is absolutely breathtaking, the transition to a 4K world isn’t going to happen overnight. For starters, 4K HDTVs are relatively expensive and remain something of a curiosity for most mainstream consumers. Even though the price of 4K sets have gone down dramatically in the last 12 months alone, the percentage of 4K sets in living rooms remains small.
Even more limiting is the fact that most content today simply isn’t being produced in 4K. While Netflix is committed to shooting all of its original programming in 4K — and even 6K in the case of House of Cards — they are in the minority. Furthermore, because 4K is so data heavy, bandwidth issues may impede widespread adoption.

While Motorola’s Moto X line has traditionally won praise from Android fans, its cameras have always left something to be desired, particularly when compared to the flagship phones of Apple and Samsung. Motorola promised that would change with the new Moto X Style and Moto X Play and it sounds like the company delivered in a big way.
