In conjunction with this week’s release of new iMacs and a slew of revamped accessories, Apple gave journalist Steven Levy unprecedented access to one of the company’s top-secret testing labs where it designs, prototypes, and tests all of its Mac accessories. Officially called the Input Design Lab, this secretive building is where Apple gets to work ensuring that its keyboards, trackpads, and mice are all up to snuff with the company’s standards.

Seeing as how no outsider has ever been granted access to the lab, the photos Levy was allowed to take and publish are extremely interesting, especially given Apple’s notorious reputation for taking product secrecy to the extreme.

What’s the worst thing you can imagine happening while your plane is taking off? OK, so having the plane explode during takeoff would probably be the worst thing, but we can’t imagine anyone would feel comfortable flying on a plane where a large slab of metal flew off it just as it was starting to leave the ground. And yet that’s exactly what we see in a scary video posted this week by YouTube user Carlos Troncoso.

In fact, it’s far from being the case. 3D Touch goes well beyond what a long press can do on Android – and long press is available on iOS too, of course – and a detailed report that examines the math and physics of 3D Touch reveals the complexity of Apple’s new hardware and software tricks.

We can’t even imagine the conversations that are taking place in Apple’s offices on Thursday. Video: The iPhone 7 I hope Apple will never make

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the 3.5-inch iPhones at the time. They fit perfectly in my hand and seemed to be just right for anything. But I wouldn’t want to use a new 3.5-inch iPhone no matter how up-to-date it was now that I know what iOS 9 os like on a bigger screen.

However, not all iPhone fans want such large displays on their iPhones, and some are still waiting for Apple to make a new iPhone that would pack the same awesome features available in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s series, but in a smaller package.
