I survived Burger King’s new Angriest Whopper, and so can you

I made a huge mistake this morning.

After BGR editor Brad Reed pointed out that Burger King had recently released its spiciest burger ever, I mentioned that I lived right across the street from a Burger King. Two hours later, I was in line ordering the Angriest Whopper combo, complete with small fries, a Sprite to drink and a burger that had been dyed red.

YouTuber explores abandoned virtual world, ends up inside a creepy nightmare

Massively multiplayer online games (MMOs) are some of the most fascinating games in the industry. Unlike other games, MMOs allow hundreds or even thousands of players to explore a virtual world simultaneously, taking on the forces of evil and competing in server-wide warfare.

But the only thing more fascinating than a living, breathing MMO is one that has been abandoned for over a decade, as is the case with Active Worlds.

The sad side effect of strong iPhone encryption

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The dust is slowly settling on the Apple vs. FBI case over iPhone encryption. Both parties got what they wanted for the time being, but the war is far from over. The Bureau used a third party’s help to break into the San Bernardino shooter’s iPhone, but there are countless other iPhones that are part of active criminal investigations that may contain important data. But for now, Apple doesn’t have to help unlock them.

The sad side effect of iPhone encryption is that families might never be able to retrieve personal data from iPhones belonging to loved ones after they pass away. A murder case in Baton Rouge, La., involves such an iPhone, and it might contain details related to the incident.

Even Kevin Smith has trouble finding anything positive to say about Batman v Superman

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Kevin Smith has long been one of the most outspoken champions of the comic book industry. He reads comics, he writes comics and he spends hours every week talking about comics on his various podcasts. He’s also an almost overwhelmingly positive force, finding something to love about any comic book movie he sees.

At least, that was the case, until he saw Batman v Superman.

9.7-inch iPad Pro review roundup

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Apple’s Phil Schiller thinks it’s “really sad” that people are still using five-year-old PCs and he wants them to replace their old computers with the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro. But can Apple’s newest iPad really be a full replacement for your old computer? The reviews for the new iPad are in and they’re all very positive, although questions remain about whether this new device is really that “laptop killer” that Tim Cook hopes it is.

Why does the iPhone need to be perfect when Android devices are still graded on a curve?

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

About a week ago, venerable tech reviewer Walt Mossberg penned a widely circulated article articulating that if the iPhone 7 isn’t “spectacular”, Apple will no longer be able to maintain “its ever-thinning lead as the best smartphone you can buy.”

Indeed, the notion that Apple is on the cusp of losing its status as the premier smartphone on the market has been a shallow and arguably baseless argument that has persisted for years. Going as far back as 2008, Apple has long been the target of pundits who like to proclaim that Apple needs to come up with a crazy new technology or innovative design lest it be lapped by an increasingly formidable lineup of Android devices.

A man completely destroyed Wheel of Fortune, and the Internet is in awe

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

I’ve seen a lot of very impressive Wheel of Fortune contestants over the years but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone quite as good as Robert Santoli, a recent Wheel contestant who started the game by solving an entire puzzle with only one letter and then went on to crush any and all opposition on his way to victory. This has to be seen to be believed.

Did you know Amazon had a special store just for cool new tech you’ve never heard of?

What good is being a retail giant if you don’t use your size and power to help out the little guy every once in a while? Amazon is the nation’s largest online retailer by a wide margin, and these days you can buy just about anything on the site. From gizmos and gadgets to books, groceries, furniture, clothing, digital content and everything in between, Amazon has become a one-stop shop for anything and everything.

But beyond all the items you know and love lies a special store packed full of cool items you had no idea existed. It’s called Amazon Launchpad, and it’s a special showcase dedicated to nifty new technology created by companies that might not have the long history and marketing budgets of the big boys, but what they lack in size they make up for in innovation.

Is Tesla’s Model 3 hiding underneath this black cloth?

%name Articles of Interest by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Tesla is set to unveil its game-changing Model 3 on Thursday night but a new picture shown in the German edition of Wired might give us our first look at the new car… although it’s not much of a look. As you can see in the image at the top of the page, Wired.de has published an image of a mysterious car that’s cloaked in a black cloth. The car’s silhouette bears a resemblance to the Model S, which means that it could be a refreshed version of that particular car. The more exciting possibility, of course, is that it’s actually a Tesla Model 3.
