The HTC 10 is the most powerful smartphone in the world

I reviewed the HTC 10 this morning and when I did, I noted that it is one of the most surprising phones the world has ever seen. Sure we knew all about the phone’s design and specs leading up to the announcement, but leaks never seem to be able to paint a complete picture. They gave us no indication that the HTC 10 would feature class-leading battery life that lasts up to two days on a single charge, they couldn’t foresee that the phone’s camera would be as impressive as it is, and there was no mention at all that the HTC 10 would offer a touch experience that is faster and smoother than anything else on the market.

But most interestingly, perhaps, is the power HTC managed to get out of the HTC 10 despite specs that are in line with other top Android phones on paper. Leaks thoroughly detailed the phone’s specs ahead of its announcement, of course, but we had no idea they would come together quite like this.

HTC 10 review: Ho… ly… s**t.

%name HTC 10 review: Ho... ly... s**t. by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

If we’re really being honest, smartphones had become pretty boring for a while. They all looked the same and were all replaced each year by newer models with slightly better specs and minor feature upgrades. But then something started to happen. Growth slowed for some of the industry’s top players and completely vanished for others, thanks in part to a lack of innovation and increased pressure from low-cost options out of China.

Phone makers are seriously turning up the heat in 2016 as a result, and the fresh new HTC 10 is the latest new offering that looks to reignite consumers’ love affair with smartphones.

Apple’s best iPhone 6s feature is coming to Android N

You may not necessarily agree, but the iPhone 6s’s 3D Touch functionality is the best feature Apple created for this iPhone generation. There’s more and more 3D Touch support in both Apple and third-party iOS apps, and it’s likely Apple will continue to expand the feature’s reach in future iOS releases. Not too long ago we heard rumors that Google’s 2016 Nexus devices would get support for a similar feature, and there are a few Android handsets that already pack 3D Touch displays, including a shameless new iPhone 6s rip-off.

As long as Google doesn’t officially support 3D Touch, these devices will have limited functionality. But a new Android N preview release seems to indicate that native 3D Touch support is coming to Android as soon as this year, meaning that users and developers will be able to make the most of pressure-sensitive screens in the future.

This has undoubtedly been one of the most significant months in Tesla’s relatively short history. Not only did the company unveil the brand new Model 3, it also managed to secure over 300,000 preorders in a matter of hours. Then, days later, Tesla returned with a sleek refresh of its popular Model S.

But despite all of that momentous news, the best thing to happen in a Tesla this month might be an elderly woman losing her mind after activating Autopilot.

Will this fall’s iPhone have the big redesign we’ve been waiting for?

%name Will this fall’s iPhone have the big redesign we’ve been waiting for? by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

A few weeks ago, a photo that supposedly showed Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 Plus case suggested the upcoming phablet will indeed have a dual camera setup on the back, along with redesigned antennas and a Smart Connector that would let you connect the phone to a keyboard. The most annoying detail about that leak concerned the dual camera, which had a protruding configuration that might be even uglier than the one on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. A second leak in mid-March also showed an iPhone 7 design render, supposedly originating from Apple supplier Catcher.

Now, a new report seems to corroborate parts of these leaks and point to a pretty significant redesign — but maybe not the big one we’ve been waiting for.

In the span of just one week, Tesla managed to secure more than 325,000 reservations for the recently unveiled Model 3, a spectacular tally which blew away expectations and even surprised Elon Musk. But the auto industry being what it is (read: hyper competitive), GM executive Dan Nicholson couldn’t help but take a shot at Tesla’s mass market EV during a recent speaking engagement.

This is Motor Trend’s vision of the Apple Car that everyone has been waiting for

%name This is Motor Trend’s vision of the Apple Car that everyone has been waiting for by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

The “Apple Car” is a mythical creation for the time being and no one knows what it really looks like or if it really even exists. Motor Trend this week took a stab at making a concept model for the “Apple Car” that the publication says is based on “exhaustive” research despite being “entirely speculative” in nature. The idea here is that Motor Trend decided to compare how much Apple had applied minimalist design principles to computers and phones and see what would happen if they tried doing the same things with a car.

The result isn’t exactly pretty, but it is an interesting and thought provoking concept.

This shock-resistant iPhone 6s battery case packs 3,200mAh of juice for just $47

Apple’s iPhone battery case is a decent option for people looking to extend the iPhone’s lackluster battery life. But to be frank, there are a million better options out there. Take the SUPCASE MFI Certified Beetle Power Holster Battery Case for Apple iPhone 6/6s, for example. It packs a much larger battery than Apple’s case and it’s also shock-resistant, so it protects your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s from damage when you drop it.

And best of all, it’s on sale for just $46.74 from now through May 9.
