Although smartwatches from major vendors are rapidly becoming the norm, it’s clear that wearable technology is still in its infancy — but the Apple Watch is expected to jumpstart the industry when it launches early next year. In fact, Samsung, LG and other competitors are banking on Apple’s success, as it could be the push their products need to attract widespread attention.

Among the thousands of bloggers around the world covering the Apple beat, John Gruber is likely the most beloved and respected by Apple fans. His analyses are often sharp and insightful, and we always enjoy his frank style — even when he’s launching attacks aimed at us. So, when Gruber takes to his blog Daring Fireball and reviews Apple’s brand new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, it’s safe to assume that his is one of the few reviews out there that is actually worth reading. And an equally safe assumption is that we should take note when he shares his thoughts on “the single-most disappointing aspect of the new phones.”

Apple’s recently released iOS 8 is very similar to iOS 7, at least when looking at it from a distance. Not much is known about Apple’s upcoming Apple Watch pricing besides the fact that, what assume is the Sport edition, will start at $349. Whether this even includes bands, we do not know. It is likely there are going to be different storage capacities for the less expensive models, so it’s not inconceivable to think that $349 is going to get you the Sport Watch with something like 16GB of storage, and then another $100 for 32GB and another $100 for 64GB.

When CEO Tim Cook and his fellow Apple executives unveils iOS 8’s great new features on stage during their WWDC 2014 keynote presentation back in June, the most dramatic audience response might have come when the crew unveiled iOS 8’s new Continuity features. With this great new functionality, iOS devices and Mac computers will be more closely connected than ever, able to quickly and easily exchange files and other data. Better still, iOS device notifications appear on a user’s connected Mac, and messages can even be sent and received right from within OS X.
But there’s a catch: despite the fact that Apple released iOS 8 to the public on Wednesday, none of this awesome new functionality is available to iPhone and iPad users yet. If you have an Android smartphone or tablet, however, all of these great features and more are already available thanks to a single fantastic app.

Some of the reactions to Apple’s iOS 7 were pretty amazing when it was first release last year. It was a brand new operating system with a brand new look and people either loved it or hated it.
Another year and another update are now upon us, and here are some of the most amazing reactions we have come across. They range from rage to excitement, to joy, to heartbreak. One of the popular themes seems to be the 5GB of free space required to install iOS 8 over the air, which could be pretty tight on a 16GB iPhone. One trick if you haven’t updated yet is to use iTunes, which requires much less free space.
