And as a result, of course, that makes Apple’s new iPhone models for 2014 the fast-selling smartphones of all time, period. Apple on Monday morning issued the press release we’ve all been waiting for, confirming opening weekend sales numbers for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. So, what do Apple’s numbers look like? Including preorders and sales through the new iPhones’ first three days of availability — and excluding sales in China, where the new iPhones haven’t yet launched — Apple managed to sell a mind-boggling 10 million combined iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets.

Home Depot recently confirmed that it has been the victim of the largest credit card breach in history, with 56 million payment cards having been stolen by clever hackers, who managed to access the giant retailer’s systems for more than four months. A report from The New York Times further reveals that while the recent hack was possible thanks to advanced malware programs that went undetected by existing security measures, Home Depot apparently has a history of ignoring the security of its customers’ payment data.

We’ve already seen great still pictures that show the iPhone’s evolution all the way from the original device in 2007 up to this year’s massive new iPhone 6 Plus. If you thought that the hugely successful iPhone 6 launch would help Apple move past the controversy surrounding nude celerity photos that were stolen from hacked iCloud accounts, think again. TMZ reported on Saturday that a fresh round of stolen celebrity photos popped up on 4Chan and included pictures of Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Hope Solo and Jennifer Lawrence. This marks the second major cache of nude celebrity photos that have hit the Internet following an earlier hack that included pictures of Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice, Jenny McCarthy, Kate Upton, Mary E. Winstead and many others.

If you’ve ever tried using Siri but have been frustrated by its accuracy, you should try giving it a new chance after installing iOS 8. In fact, according to one longtime iPhone user who has a motor speech disorder called dysarthria, Siri has improved so much with iOS 8 that he’s able to effectively use it for the first time ever.

Apple is very late to the party when it comes to releasing a phone with a display larger than 5 inches, but apparently not too late to generate interest among Android users. Trade-in website Gazelle tells us that “during the week that Apple announced the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Samsung trade-ins increased with the announcement of new iPhones, jumping more than 3X week-over-week.” What’s more the company found that “one in three Android users” who are trading in old devices “say they’re likely to upgrade to the iPhone 6.”

We’re at least a few months out from the release of the Apple Watch, but just about everyone has sounded off with their opinions of Apple’s first wearable. Whether its watchmakers or the general public, there seems to have been a wide range of reactions. One of the groups that many of us were most interested to hear from was the fashion industry, if for no other reason than to know whether or not we’d look ridiculous wearing an Apple Watch. The response was divisive, but many designers were impressed with the smartwatch.

There’s no doubt about it, the iPhone 6 launch is the biggest handset launch of the year. Apple had sold well over 4 million iPhone 6 units during preorder availability, but that didn’t stop thousands of buyers from lining up in front of Apple retail stores in the various markets, days ahead of the actual launch. But as many reports have shown, not all of them are doing it to buy an actual iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus for themselves.
