The world has Android 5.0 fever, and while most Android device owners will have to wait until next year at the earliest to get Lollipop on their phones and tablets, enthusiastic Google fans don’t have to wait another minute. We told you earlier this week that near-final versions of Android 5.0 Lollipop had been made available for some Android devices, including the Google’s “pure” Nexus 5 and Nexus 4 smartphones, as well as one version of the Nexus 7 tablet.

Well, thanks to the XDA Developers forum, the latest version of Android 5.0 can now be downloaded and installed on those devices and many others.

IOS 8 has been out for more than a month now. In fact, we already saw Apple release its first major update to the platform last month when iOS 8.1 brought bug fixes and a few new features such as Apple Pay. But as long as some of us have been using iOS 8 — and we say “some” of us because there are still millions of people who can’t update their devices — there are still plenty of new features we don’t know about. Apple packed in so much new functionality that it’s impossible to find and remember it all.

Of course, we regularly provide compilations of good iOS 8 tips and tricks to help people get the most out of their iPhones and iPads, and now we have a new list to share.

%name LEAK: This is what Android 5.0 Lollipop looks like on the worlds best Android phone by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

When we reviewed Motorola’s second-generation Moto X back in September, we called it the best Android phone in the world. Of course, a lot has changed since then. Bigger phones have been released. Faster phones have been released. More powerful phones have been released. In fact, Motorola itself launched a smartphone last week that fits all three of those criteria. What hasn’t been released, however, is a better smartphone. The Moto X offers a size, shape, display, interface, price and user experience that are ideal for the widest range of smartphone users looking for a high-end phone. And soon, it will also offer Android 5.0.

Motorola promised a speedy update to Lollipop for its latest phones and now, a new leak reveals Google’s new Android 5.0 Lollipop software running on the second-generation Moto X.

FEATURED: 10 cases that will protect your iPhone 6 without ruining Apple’s gorgeous design

%name FEATURED: 10 cases that will protect your iPhone 6 without ruining Apples gorgeous design by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

Regular BGR readers will know that when it comes to smartphone cases, I am not a fan. Industrial design, ergonomics and materials are all hugely important pieces of the smartphone experience, and cases typical spoil all of them. As strongly as I dislike cases, however, I almost always have a case on my iPhone 6. As anyone who has ever held one knows, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are the most slippery phones on the face of the planet.

Beyond that, not using a case on Apple’s new iPhones leaves them vulnerable to a few troublesome issues, namely “Bendgate” and “Dyegate.”

So, the task for me has become finding the least offensive cases out there that will protect my iPhone 6 without making it look and feel hideous in the process.

No one in the spotlight online is a stranger to Internet trolls. They’re everywhere — just look in the comments section on just about any well-known website that supports commenting, and you’ll find plenty of them. They lurk around every digital corner, waiting for the perfect moment to spring out and annoy us. Brazen trolls don’t even worry about masking their identities, happy to aggravate everyone knowing that they’re sitting safely behind their computer or smartphone.

Of course for most of us, it has become second nature to simply tune out their stupidity. Every once in a while, however, a high-profile Internet personality decides that enough is enough — and that’s exactly what Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg decided recently.

Cable companies shrug off cord cutters by jacking up broadband prices

So you think you’re going to save money by canceling your cable TV service and watching your favorite shows through online streaming options? Sure, that may work at first but cable companies will still figure out how to get their pound of flesh from you unless they face real competition in the home broadband market. The New York Post points out that even though cable companies are losing pay TV subscribers, they’re making up for this lost revenue by jacking up prices on home broadband services.
