Artists have been leveling their complaints against Spotify and similar services for years, but few have enough clout to remove themselves from the world of streaming music entirely. After all, some money is better than no money, right? Not for Taylor Swift. This week, she became the latest artist to publicly denounce Spotify and remove all of her albums from the service.

If you’re someone who still owns an older device and you just don’t feel like upgrading to a newer one just yet, then you may want to check out some of the AOSP Lollipop ROMs being built by some XDA Developers that could bring Lollipop to older devices such as the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S III Mini.

The saga of Apple and its bankrupt sapphire supplier gets weirder by the day

There’s nothing funny about a company going bankrupt in and of itself, but we have to admit the dispute between Apple and its now-bankrupt sapphire supplier GT-Advanced Technologies is actually pretty amusing simply because it’s so strange. In the first place, we found it a bit funny when Apple said it was “surprised” that GT decided to file for bankruptcy since it was apparently a withheld Apple payment that sent the company into a downward spiral. Now 9to5Mac has highlighted some more strange details of the feud between the companies that allegedly show how Apple employs comically brutal negotiating tactics with suppliers.

Steve Jobs lived a fascinating life, one which has been documented repeatedly by writers and filmmakers since his passing, but despite all the stories and all the footage which has already been released, there are still artifacts from Jobs’ life which have yet to be uncovered. Nearly thirty years ago, when Steve Jobs was let go from Apple, he started a new company: NeXT Computer.

He gave Doug Menuez, a documentary photographer, unlimited access to the company. Thirty years later, Menuez wrote a book about his experience.

Google’s Nexus 6 launch has been a curious one so far, with the handset being scarcely available in the U.S. from the Google Play Store and Motorola, where the first limited Nexus 6 batches have sold out incredibly fast. Google did say that more Nexus 6 stock is expected in the Google Play Store each Wednesday, with the Search giant not ready yet to confirm Nexus 6 launch dates for its carrier partners. However, the company at least mentioned more details about the international Nexus 6 launch, revealing prices in the process.

The strongest entry in years, on the shoulders of one powerful suit

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare does not break the mold. It doesn’t lift the series to new heights, it doesn’t change the landscape of first-person shooters and it doesn’t fix the problems that previous entries have perpetuated year after year. But it does everything it needed to do, and a little bit more.

No iPhone 6 Plus recall, but Apple is making some changes to avoid crashing bug

%name No iPhone 6 Plus recall, but Apple is making some changes to avoid crashing bug by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

After a number of 128GB iPhone 6 Plus owners who had installed a large number of apps on their devices complained about unexpected crashes and reboots, a report from South Korea suggested Apple might considering a recall for the device, as the bug might be caused by a certain type of memory modules. The report has been refuted since, with 9to5Mac saying Apple is aware of the limited issue, and Digitimes adding that memory makers said that particular memory isn’t at fault for crashes.

But now, Business Korea said on Friday that Apple is apparently ready to replace that particular memory type (triple-level cell NAND or TLC NAND) from 128GB iPhone 6 Plus and 64GB iPhone 6 units in order to avoid similar issues in the future. Apparently, in addition to some 128GB iPhone 6 Plus owners, some 64GB iPhone 6 buyers have also experienced similar crashes.

More and more reports are detailing Samsung’s next flagship handset, the Galaxy S6 “Project Zero” that’s supposed to launch next year, with Samsung said to be creating the handset from scratch rather than simply improving on previous Galaxy S models. While the Galaxy S6 is far from becoming official, The Korea Herald notes new speculation that Samsung might be planning a bold new design for the Galaxy S6, even more interesting than the Galaxy Note Edge curved handset — that is, if you like having special displays on the phone’s edges.
