One of Android M‘s cool new features is meant to improve the overall user experience concerns battery life. Announced on stage last week during the opening keynote of Google I/O 2015, Doze will put apps in a deep sleep status and will supposedly have a significant impact on battery life. Now, a first round of early testing shows that the feature already works, even though Android M is only available in an early beta version of Google’s latest mobile software.

Researchers from the University of Washington have found a way to use a Wi-Fi router to wirelessly charge batteries for a variety of devices, while simultaneously offering users unhindered access to wireless Internet. The best part about it is that the new tech is compatible with existing wireless routers, which could be upgraded via a simple firmware update to support it.

Apple on Monday unveiled iOS 9, OS X El Capitan, WatchOS 2 and Apple Music during a lengthy WWDC 2015 keynote. As long as the keynote was, however, the company wasn’t able to introduce and demo tons of new features for each operating system, including iOS 9, leaving many of them to be discovered by developers.
Though they were missing from Apple’s presentation, the company did reveal more than 30 hidden iOS 9 features that’ll be available to users and developers later this year.
