It’s always neat to look at pictures of Earth from space but Japan’s Himawari-8 weather satellite has just outdone every beautiful set of Earth photos we’ve ever seen. The New York Times brings us word that the satellite is now snapping a picture of Earth every 10 minutes and the publication has used them to create a stunning timelapse of the planet over a 24-hour period.

Oh, Comcast. Even when you do things that should be cool, you manage to make them massively disappointing. Our latest example is the pricing for the company’s new 2Gbps Internet service, which we now know will cost you $300 per month plus up to $1,000 in installation fees. A more Comcastic pricing scheme we could not imagine.

The cable industry is in turmoil. Amid excessive pricing and the emergence of services like Netflix, the value proposition offered by traditional cable companies is arguably less compelling than it’s ever been. Underscoring this shifting market dynamic, The Wall Street Journal recently reported that ESPN in the last year alone has lost upwards of 3.2 million subscribers. Given that ESPN has long been the most profitable cable channel, this data point is certainly eyebrow raising.

Apple Music is the latest and greatest service from Apple as the company looks to regain some of the ground it lost while streaming services took off. iTunes Radio didn’t gain any traction to speak of, and Apple knew it had to come up with something special if it hoped to compete with Spotify and Pandora. So, the company bought Beats and now Apple Music is finally here.
