Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight is one of the most anticipated movies coming out this year. The western tells the story of eight mysterious characters who are linked by some sort of collective past, and the first trailer isn’t really that revelatory. Released a few days ago, the short trailer shows some of the film’s characters focusing on Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell. But there are plenty of other well-known figures in this Tarantino creation, and a series of posters just leaked, each one featuring one of the major eight protagonists.

Samsung, in a last-ditch effort to get its 2012 patent loss to Apple overturned, will reportedly try to take its case to the United States Supreme Court. According to the San Jose Mercury News, Samsung is hoping to officially plead its case come November and began filing the requisite paper work this past Wednesday.

“The questions present issues of enormous importance to patent litigation and the scope of innovation, especially in high-technology industries,” Samsung’s brief reads in part.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus should be launched next month, though Apple has not released details about its fall iPhone event yet. Did you ever read The Hobbit growing up? Of course you did! It was a charming little book that served as a nice, short introduction to the world of Middle Earth and as a thrilling prelude to the longer, more epic Lord of the Rings trilogy. Ideally the film version of the book should have been an action-packed three hour movie… but Hollywood being Hollywood, it got absurdly stretched out to three full feature-length films for no reason other than being a shameless cash grab.
