If Google is smart, it will invite Belgian businessman Sander Cokelaere to its next Google I/O conference to attest to the power of Google’s mobile app ecosystem. As The Independent reports, Cokelaere was kidnapped recently by a British man named John Clarke Spence, who held Cokelaere for ransom and demanded tens of thousands of pounds from his boss in exchange for his release. What Spence didn’t count on, however, was the power of Google in Cokelaere’s pocket.

Apple’s new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Plus might look the same as last year’s models, but there are tons of changes behind the scenes. In fact, in our in-depth iPhone 6s review, we said that this year’s iPhone upgrade is Apple’s biggest iPhone upgrade ever compared to the prior year, which is pretty crazy considering 2015 is an “S” year. The iPhone 6s is faster than its predecessor, it has a much better camera, it’s packed full of new features, and it’s stronger as well thanks to new 7000 Series aluminum and a stronger glass display cover.

Despite all those changes — and despite the fact that this year’s iPhone models are each about 2mm thicker than last year’s models — the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus can still use the same cases as their predecessors, which means many fans won’t need to buy a new case. Microsoft last week made a huge splash when it unveiled the Surface Book, a versatile laptop with a detachable 13.5-inch display. By all accounts, the Surface Book is the ultimate hybrid device and is arguably the most exciting new product to come out of Redmond in years. All in all, not a bad effort given that this is Microsoft’s first true foray into the world of notebook computing.

Now if you’re expecting Apple to ever consider releasing a similar type of hybrid device, think again. Tim Cook has famously stated on a number of occasions that combining two different products doesn’t necessarily lead to a more enjoyable user experience.
