This morning we got some good news when we learned that the actual iPhone 6 models Apple plans to launch this fall will likely have a crucial difference compared to the hundreds of mockups we’ve seen at this point. Instead of having the awful plastic inserts on them that completely ruins the sleek look of the aluminum housings, they will reportedly feature glass pieces above the antennas similar to the ones on the current iPhone 5s.

Following that good news, however, we have a bit of potential bad news. According to a report out of China, new technology Apple is using in its iPhone 6 displays is supposedly causing production difficulties that could impact Apple’s supply of next-generation iPhones at launch.

Though it has been diluted by the Federal Communications Commission in its current form, the idea of “net neutrality” was initially put in place in order to ensure that Internet services delivered to American consumers are kept fair and neutral for consumers and for content owners. The current proposal being batted around is anything but neutral considering the fact that it allows content owners to pay Internet service providers for “fast lanes” that will deliver their content to users more quickly and smoothly, but that is an entirely different issue. For now, we shift focus to a different part of the debate: Should wireless services be covered by net neutrality?

YouTube user Tom Rich decided to give it a shot and he’s posted a new video that superimposes iOS 8 onto a dummy of the iPhone 6, thus showing us what the new software may look like on a larger 4.7-inch display.

According to reports from numerous solid sources, Apple plans to launch not one but two completely redesigned iPhone models in 2014. One new iPhone 6 is said to feature a 4.7-inch display alongside a new design and upgraded internals, and the second new iPhone model is said to be a phablet with a 5.5-inch screen.

The look and feel of these two new phones will seemingly be quite similar despite the size difference, according to various leaks. Unfortunately, we have also seen several leaked mockups that suggest the two new iPhone models will have something else in common: A design element on the back of the phones that completely ruins their look.

In an interview with Ars Technica, Google engineering director David Burke said that OEMs won’t be able to alter these new Android platforms in the same way that they can alter Android on smartphones and tablets with overlays such as Samsung’s TouchWiz or HTC’s Sense.
