It’s easy to get excited about Apple products. They get faster, thinner, lighter, smaller, better, more beautiful and more functional. But every so often Apple introduces a pivotal product, one that might be from a brand new product category, or one from an existing product that is just so much better it can’t help but impress.
The iPad Air 2 is that product right now. It is better than the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, and I would go as far as to say it’s the best thing Apple has ever made.

Google on Thursday made a few big announcements pertaining to Android Wear, one of which is the addition of a significant feature many users have been waiting for. Writing on Google’s Android blog, Android Wear product manager Kenny Stoltz revealed that Google’s first major Android Wear update adds support for devices with stand-alone GPS, meaning that Wear smartwatches finally become useful in a variety of situations without the need to tether them to a smartphone.
Along the same vein, Android Wear will now be able to store music locally on supported devices so that users can connect a Bluetooth headset and listen to songs without a connected smartphone.

The first iPad Air 2 benchmarks suggested earlier this week that Apple’s latest flagship tablet is even more powerful than initially believed, even though it didn’t manage to outscore the Surface Pro 3, Microsoft’s tablet/laptop 2-in-1 device. However, more benchmark test results have surfaced since then, revealing the iPad Air 2 beats in tests the only brand new iPad rival that matters.

Like every other smartphone on the planet, the auto-brightness feature on Apple’s iPhone models including the iPhone 6 never works quite the way people want it too. The bright settings are too bright and the dim settings are too dim, so despite the obvious benefits to battery life, many users disable auto-brightness in their iPhone’s display settings. This means that any time a user wants to adjust the screen brightness on his or her phone, a trip into the Settings app or a swipe up to open Control Center is needed.
But there’s a cool hidden trick that will make it fast and easy to instantly dim your screen anytime you want.

The iPad Air 2 is officially available in stores, so it’s not really surprising to see the guys over at iFixit publish their official iPad Air 2 teardown. The slimmer-than-ever iPad Air 2 can be easily torn apart if you’ve got the right tools, but it’s not easy to repair, receiving a 2 out of 10 repaiarability score from the teardown experts. However, iFixit did manage to shed more light on the internal components of the iPad Air 2, many of which have been detailed in previous leaks and reports.
In the process, however, the publication made some interesting discoveries.

We have seen a number of photography experts and professional photographers review the camera on Apple’s new iPhone 6 Plus phablet. Apple’s iPhones are widely known for being among the best in the business when it comes to smartphone camera quality, and the optics on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are the best Apple has ever used. Since only the 6 Plus includes optical image stabilization (OIS), this is the handset photographers typically focus on when reviewing Apple’s latest handsets.
Reviews up to this point have been great. We have seen a number of respected photography experts review the iPhone 6 Plus camera and sing it praise, and we’ve even seen some photo samples that are so incredible it’s hard to believe they were captured by a smartphone.

Yes, we already know just about all there is to know about Motorola’s upcoming new Droid Turbo smartphone, which will be unveiled next week by Verizon Wireless. Everything we know has leaked quite recently though, so some might consider the Droid Turbo to be the most surprising smartphone of the year. After all, no one expected one of the most sleek and powerful flagship smartphones of 2014 to come from Motorola, a company that recently turned its focus away from bleeding-edge tech and more toward customization and user experiences.
Now, the world has seemingly been given its first glimpse of an actual Motorola Droid Turbo smartphone powered on and in use.
