Walmart may not like it but Apple Pay looks like it’s about to have a big impact on 2014’s Black Friday shopping season. A new survey conducted by Stratos, the makers of the Bluetooth Connected Card Platform, estimates that 30% of American smartphone owners plan to use either Apple Pay or Google Wallet to buy things this holiday shopping season. What’s more, 17% of smartphone users surveyed said having the option to buy things with Apple Pay or Google Wallet would cause them to spend more money than they normally would.

It’s been all but impossible to buy a Nexus 6 since launch, but there’s good news for the lucky few who have. According to Android Police, the first wave of orders have begun shipping, indicating that customers will receive their phones within the next week.

In case you missed it, the European Space Agency’s Rosetta spacecraft successfully landed a probe onto the comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko earlier this week, marking the first time we’ve ever successfully put a manmade device onto a comet. Wired has snagged several images taken by both the Rosetta and the probe of the comet’s surface and they give us an amazing first-hand look at the what it’s like to be on a giant rock that’s hurtling through space.

Earlier this week, Ubisoft released the first Assassin’s Creed game exclusive to the new-generation consoles. Assassin’s Creed Unity takes the series back to its roots, eschewing the naval combat and complicated modern day story of Black Flag for a more traditional adventure. Unfortunately, the game shipped with its fair share of bugs, resulting in plenty of negative reviews.

Netflix users streamed some 6.5 billion hours of video during the first quarter of the year, CordCuttersNews has learned, which amounts to over 19,500,000 terabytes (TB) during the period, or around 6,500,000TB every month. The publication says that at this rate, Netflix will use 78,000,000TB in 2014, at an average HD quality.
