Coin is not the future. This is important to make clear right off the bat. The future of payments will look much more like Apple Pay than it does Coin. In the digital age, there is no reason we should still have to carry paper money or plastic credit cards in the United States. We do it because we have to; the government is behind the times and banks are behind the times.

Paper money and plastic credit cards will not exist in the future. Sadly, it maybe be decades before that future is truly realized.

In the meantime, smartphone and wearable-based payment solutions like Apple Pay are in their infancy in America. They’re wonderful and secure options at the small number of retailers where they are accepted, but they cannot replace any of the credit cards in your wallet, let alone all of them. Good luck buying dinner at a restaurant or getting cash from an ATM with Apple Pay.

This is where Coin comes into play.

Email. Is there anything in our lives that is more necessary and more burdensome? It seems like everyone hates email and no one can live without it, so the obvious next step is to fix it. Way back when Apple went on a rampage against Gizmodo after the publication got its hands on a prototype of the iPhone 4, Jon Stewart and The Daily Show ripped into the company for its seemingly heavy-handed tactics in going after the publication. 9to5Mac has spotted an interview with Stewart on the Howard Stern show in which he says that Steve Jobs actually called him after he ran that segment… and the most shocking thing about it was that Jobs was polite and nice.

Amazon has announced its Black Friday 2014 sale plans, joining the many other retailers competing fiercely for customers’ business on the most important shopping day of the upcoming holiday season. The giant retailer said in a press release that it plans to offer users eight days of Black Friday deals, with a new deal being listed every ten minutes starting with November 21st.

During its latest earnings call, Apple revealed that it’s selling every iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus it can make, suggesting that some buyers might not be able to get their desired iPhone 6 model in time for the holidays, as the company wasn’t sure when it’ll be able to catch up with demand. Since launching the new iPhones, Apple’s estimated shipping times for orders placed on its online store reached seven to ten business days for the iPhone 6 and up to four weeks for the iPhone 6 Plus, no matter what capacity versions, colors, or carrier options, without seeing any improvement.
