Target has already announced its Black Friday 2014 deals, but the giant retailer is ready to offer additional savings to customers, listing on its website a Black Friday “Surprise Doorbusters” page that includes various products that weren’t initially included in the retailer’s Black Friday ad. U.S. and U.K. spy agencies including the NSA and GCHQ, respectively, have performed a variety of sophisticated spy operations, collecting massive amounts of personal data, as many Edward Snowden leaks revealed in the past year. German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung has published a new report that reveals that as far back as 2009 the GCHQ, and thus also the NSA, had massive access to submarine cable links around the globe with help from now Vodafone-owned Cable & Wireless.

Both AT&T and Comcast — two companies that are not exactly fond of net neutrality regulations — reportedly tried to warn Verizon against suing the Federal Communications Commission over its 2010 net neutrality rules. The carrier went through with it anyway and now there are signs it’s feeling regret.

Sony has published a new PlayStation 4 ad on its European PlayStation channel, but pulled it rather fast (technically, the ad is listed as private) after realizing the commercial can be perceived as quite offensive to a certain group of gamers. The ad — which is still available on YouTube, as it has been quickly reposted by others — features an attractive female doctor who seems to suggest the viewer has been “furiously masturbating,” as Business Insider puts it.

Samsung on Tuesday released a new promo video to kick off the holiday season, highlighting several Galaxy-branded devices and other Samsung products, with the help of famed Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, the celebrity couple the company already used in a different ad in mid-September.

Although 2014 has been a pretty bad year for Samsung overall, the company can still take solace in the fact that people still seem to love its gigantic phones more than any other models — including the iPhone 6 Plus. Chitika has done some analysis of North American smartphone traffic from devices whose displays measure in at 5 inches or greater and has found that despite the added competition from Apple this fall, Samsung is still America’s phablet king.

Against all odds, there’s going to be a fourth Jurassic Park movie in 2015. Jurassic World has been in various stages of production at Universal Pictures since 2001, but it finally began picking up steam over the past few years, casting Guardians of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt in the lead role.
