There were a lot of sad pirates on Tuesday after a massive police raid completely shut down the infamous Pirate Bay torrent website worldwide. However, TorrentFreak reports that Pirate Bay cofounder and former spokesman Peter Sunde now believes that the site should stay down with Davy Jones’ locker this time and permanently die off.

Apple is currently on the defense in an iPod antitrust case that claims the company deleted music on users’ iPods that came from third-party sources without explicitly telling them what was going on. The plaintiffs have at their disposal emails from Steve Jobs to other Apple execs and a video testimony from the former Apple leader that are used against the company, and various media organizations including the Associated Press, Bloomberg and CNN want that video to be made public.

While it doesn’t look like North Korea was directly responsible for the massive hack on Sony Pictures’ systems, it does seem that whoever executed the hack did so in retaliation for Sony’s upcoming film The Interview, a comedy that revolves around attempts to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Re/code flags some leaked emails that were unearthed during the hack between Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal and film star Seth Rogen that show Rogen had a very unusual idea for appeasing the angry communist regime.

Even though many fingers were unofficially pointing to North Korea, as the origin of the massive Sony Pictures hack operation, the country denied at least at couple of times any involvement, but praised the hackers behind the devastating cyber attack. Furthermore, Reuters reports that the FBI has also issued an official comment on the matter, saying that North Korea is not behind the attack, according to information available at this time. The publication also revealed that the hack may end up costing the company as much as $100 million.
