Well now T-Mobile has agreed to fork over $90 million to settle the FTC’s charges, which it said were “unfounded and without merit” earlier this year. As part of the settlement, T-Mobile will have to provide full refunds to any affected customers.

Score another win for the “Un-carrier.” Ars Technica notes that T-Mobile has now “won a declaratory ruling that could force AT&T and Verizon Wireless to charge lower prices for data roaming.” Essentially, T-Mobile has been arguing that America’s two biggest carriers have been charging unfairly high prices for data roaming that artificially kept the price of its services higher than it should be.

The hackers responsible for the Sony cyber attack have leaked a treasure trove of data stolen from the company’s computer network, revealing many details regarding Sony’s current and future business plans, as well as many personal details concerning Sony employees. Gizmodo, however, discovered an interesting new tidbit in an alleged email thread from a Sony executive, and it might prove to be the most interesting leak so far, at least from a gadget perspective.

Apple is a terrific company in many ways but it often does not handle criticism all that well. Although there have been times when Apple has shown a commendable willingness to own up to its mistakes — Tim Cook’s apology for the Apple Maps fiasco is one example — just as often it will get overly defensive and will insist, despite evidence to the contrary, that it hasn’t made any mistakes. Recall the company’s initial response to “Antennagate,” in which it told customers that they were holding their phones the wrong way, to get an idea of what I’m talking about.
