Mobile app maker Mobilligy is on a commendable mission. As the company points out, more than 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. According to a study published by Bankrate earlier this month and covered by The Wall Street Journal, only 38% of people polled said that they had enough money in the bank to cover a surprise $500 repair bill or a $1,000 emergency room visit.

At the same time, Mobilligy also notes that banks in the U.S. recently raised average overdraft fees to a record high of $30 per incident, which led to the collection of overdraft fees totalling $32 billion in 2014.

It’s hard to imagine that one app can undo all of that damage, but Prism aims to try.

Even with nearly a decade of experience under our belt, we still haven’t perfected touchscreen controls on our iPhones. There are some games that handle the touch-based control scheme better than others, but it’s always a shame to cover up a portion of the screen with our smudgy fingers.

That’s why it might finally be time to pick up a Bluetooth controller.

How Apple beat Android the Tim Cook way

Rather than tumultuously and publicly raging against Android device makers and committing major resources to a thermonuclear war against Google and its Android partners (which is how Steve Jobs did it while at the helm of Apple), Tim Cook decided to take a different, sneakier approach to defeating Android. A new Forbes article says that Cook basically “defused” Jobs’s thermonuclear threat, “then he took down Android.” And he did it quietly even though the CEO was never afraid to call out competitors in public — just see his stance on Android malware or privacy matters.

%name UH OH... Is this a bad sign for Samsungs Galaxy S6? by Authcom, Nova Scotia\s Internet and Computing Solutions Provider in Kentville, Annapolis Valley

As we reported on Monday, Samsung is now less than a month away from the unveiling of its most important new smartphone in years. The company’s profits have plummeted in the past two quarters thanks to increased pressure at the low end from Chinese smartphone vendors, and then at the high end from Apple’s new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Now, all eyes turn to the Galaxy S6 to see how Samsung plans to respond to Apple’s new iPhones.

Unfortunately, we may have our first sign that the Galaxy S6 isn’t quite the jumpstart Samsung needs to turn things around.

I’ve owned a Nintendo 3DS ever since the day it launched. It’s not the most inventive or the most attractive portable on the market, but it features an incredible selection of first-party and third-party content. But its physical limitations have always bothered me, to the point where I simply started taking my PS Vita on trips with me rather than my 3DS.

The New 3DS XL is going to change that.

While smartphones and tablets might be helpful when it comes to keeping your kids entertained or teaching them various skills, you may want to hold off on letting your kids use them until they’re at least 30 months old. The Guardian, citing Boston University School of Medicine researchers who talked to the Pediatrics journal, says that use of smartphones and tablets at that age might have significant adverse effects.

HTC’s anti-Samsung rap video might just be the goofiest thing ever

For the past few years, we’ve been both wowed by the quality of HTC’s phones and stunned by some of the questionable decisions it’s made with its marketing. If a new music video posted on HTC’s YouTube account last week is any indication, the company’s marketing strategy will be just as baffling in 2015 as it was over the past two years.
