Watch: Tina Fey sends Letterman off in style by taking off and donating her dress
With late-night TV legend David Letterman on his way out, Tina Fey decided to commemorate her final appearance on his show by declaring that it would be the last time she ever made a public appearance in a fancy dress. In future appearances on talk shows, Fey claimed she would be dressed much more casually than the way she traditionally dressed on Letterman’s Late Show.

Elon Musk: Demand for Tesla’s new battery packs is ‘crazy off the hook’
Tesla’s recently introduced battery packs, for both home and utility use, are already proving to be tremendous successes. If you recall, Tesla last week introduced a Powerwall battery pack (available in 7kWh and 10kWh configurations) for home owners alongside a Powerpack battery designed for corporate use and utility companies.
During Tesla’s earnings conference call this week, CEO Elon Musk said that the response to Tesla’s new batteries has been overwhelming and “crazy off the hook.” Impressively, the Powerwall has already yielded 38,000 reservations while the industrial-oriented Powerpack has netted 2,500 reservations.

Don’t freak out about Windows 10 being called the ‘last Windows’
Microsoft doesn’t have a Windows 11 in mind for the time being, and the company will stick with Windows 10 for some time to come. You shouldn’t panic though, as Windows isn’t dying. Instead, it looks like Microsoft will somewhat copy a page from Apple’s OS X playbook.

NYT: Uber willing to pay $3B for Nokia’s Here maps business
It’s no secret that Nokia’s Here mapping service is for sale, with the Finnish company having received various bids from third-parties interested in the maps and navigation business. Google, Apple, Microsoft and Facebook have been rumored to be among the interested companies. Similarly, a consortium of German automakers, including BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz, are also looking to purchase Here. Finally, Uber, a popular taxi service in many countries, is also looking to acquire Nokia’s maps division.

Spiders produce Kevlar-tough webs after being fed carbon nanotubes
This is something that’s either incredibly cool or incredibly scary depending on how you feel about spiders. Technology Review brings us word that materials scientist Emiliano Lepore at the University of Trento in Italy has discovered a way to spray spiders with water that contains carbon nanotubes and graphene flakes that will give them the power to spin silk that matches “the toughness of state-of-the-art carbon fibers such as Kevlar.” Apparently, the spiders actually swallow and ingest the nanotubes before being able to create this super silk.

Nintendo attractions are coming to a Universal theme park near you
Nintendo hasn’t given its fans much to be excited about over the past few months, but following the surprise announcement of a full-year profit on Thursday, the video game company revealed that it would be entering into a partnership with Universal Parks & Resorts to bring Nintendo-based attractions to theme parks the world over.

McDonald’s is more desperate than we ever imagined
McDonald’s is in bad shape right now and it has nothing to do with the silly-looking new Hamburglar mascot. Faced with slumping sales, the fast food giant has been scrambling around trying to come up with a way to rebrand its image to bring more customers back to its franchises. However, we never realized how desperate McDonald’s was until this morning when we read a Reuters report over at CNBC that revealed the company is actually going to start trying to sell kale at some locations in Southern California.

Why Samsung must be secretly happy the Apple Watch is a hit
Although the Apple Watch isn’t hitting iPhone 6-level sales numbers, it’s definitely a hit by smartwatch standards. Now a new x-ray teardown conducted by iFixit and Chipworks has revealed that Samsung has a good reason to be happy at the Apple Watch’s success: Samsung apparently supplied Apple with a tiny 28-nanometer that is part of its S1 chipset.

The feud between BlackBerry and T-Mobile is finally over
Remember when T-Mobile was trying to convert BlackBerry users to the iPhone and BlackBerry decided to end its licensing agreement with the “Un-carrier?” Well, it seems the two have patched things up because the two announced on Thursday “a new partnership to bring the BlackBerry Classic to the Un-carrier’s Data Strong network and its approximately 57 million individual and business customers.”
