Tidal seemed like a service with such promise, but a botched launch caused the iPhone app’s popularity to plummet soon after it was released. Jay-Z’s music service was supposed to be a haven for music fans and artists alike, giving fans access to higher-quality premium tracks while ensuring that artists — independent artists in particular — make more money in the process. Then, to promote Tidal to the world, the service paraded around a bunch of multi-millionaires no one wants to support.

But forget everything you’ve read in the media and forget the fact that even Kanye seems to think the service is doomed, because Tidal now has some support from just the type of people it needs to begin vocally supporting it: Independent artists.

It’s easy to forget just how much we rely on Gmail. Perhaps that’s part of the beauty of Google’s free email service – it’s a part of our lives now, so much so that we don’t even remember what a mess email services were before Gmail came along and flipped the industry on its head.

Battery life is and will continue to be one of the biggest pain points for smartphone owners, regardless of which handsets they might use. Comparatively poor battery life really doesn’t matter at all when it comes to Apple’s iPhones, but Android smartphone owners have a much wider range of choices, so battery life can certainly impact their buying decisions — and according to several surveys, it does.

Apple put a huge amount of time and effort into the creation of the Apple Watch, the company’s first new product line since the original iPad was released in 2010. The hardware is a cut above anything we’ve seen launch ahead of the device, and the software experience widens the gap even further.

But there’s one area Apple apparently didn’t put much thought into at all, and the Watch is absurdly easy for thieves to steal as a result.
