The Apple Watch rollout was unique, to say the least. In stark contrast to typical Apple product launches which often involve long lines of eager buyers, the Apple Watch launch was much more muted.
Individuals interested in purchasing an Apple Watch could only do so by placing an order online and having it delivered to their home or workplace. Buyers interested in casually walking in and out of an Apple retail store with an Apple Watch in hand were out of luck.
But that may be changing soon enough.

Ever since the launch of the iPhone 5, consumers have been waiting patiently for an official dock from Apple. Two and a half years later, we can finally buy one. Apple quietly put the iPhone Lightning Dock up for sale on the Apple Store website on Tuesday morning for $39.00 with an expected shipping time of 1-3 business days.

The Apple Watch received its first major software update on Tuesday and it’s promising a big number of improvements to Siri functionality, calorie counting capabilities for both indoor cycling and rowing workouts, pace tracking for outdoor runs and walks, and third-party app integration. This last fix is particularly important because poor third-party app performance has been one of the biggest early criticisms of the Apple Watch overall.

In the age of smartphones, it seems odd that text messages would be sent to wrong numbers as often as they are. There are some instances where wrong number texts make sense. For example, when someone changes phones and gets a new number, it stands to reason that whoever ends up with their old number might get a few messages intended for the number’s original owner.

Ed Fries in recent days took a trip from Seattle down to New Mexico Tech, his college alma mater that had decided to bestow on him one of those distinguished career awards that tend to cap a long, eventful professional existence.
At one point, as a speaker read through the Microsoft veteran’s biography for the crowd, the audience broke out in cheers.
Even though Fries, one of the early developers of Microsoft offerings like Excel and Word, has worked on a variety of products over the years that many consumers still use every day, it was a one specific item from his time with Microsoft that got the crowd going. Fries is also a co-founder of the Xbox, a console that celebrates its 15th birthday next year and remains a cornerstone of the Microsoft empire.
