Anyone who’s inclined to think of Google as a bunch of creepy privacy invaders will likely have their suspicions confirmed by a newly revealed patent that shows the creepiest Google product ever created. Per Engadget, Google’s X Labs team has been working on a “smart” teddy bear that can watch your children and respond to things that they say. As an example for how this would work, the patent describes how “the anthropomorphic device may aim its gaze at the source” whenever a child moves and from there it could “express curiosity, may tilt its head, furrow its brow, and/or scratch its head with an arm.”

If ever there was something in desperate need of a good “killing,” email is it. We have seen countless “email killers” introduced over the years and truth be told, some of them do a pretty good job of changing the way we use email, at least in part. This is in stark contrast to most other “killers,” which are typically all hype.

To date, our favorite disruptive email app is by far Mailbox, which is now owned by Dropbox. We’ve discussed it plenty of times in the past, and we even covered how we used the nifty app to destroy email. Now however, there’s a new “email killer” coming to town according to tech blogs, and the first screenshots of Microsoft’s upcoming new app were revealed in a recent leak.

After years of having his idea for a glow in the dark toilet seat scoffed at, Dave Reynolds of Lebanon, Tennessee is the one having the last laugh. Reynolds’ product, appropriately called Potty Glow, is now available for purchase at Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowe’s for just $50.

“I kept telling this story over and over to people and they laughed,” Reynolds said during a recent TV interview, “and I said, ‘One day you’re not going to laugh at me. One day you’re going to go to the bathroom and think of me.’”

Video games have gotten a bad rap for years now. They create killers, many critics like to claim. They glorify criminal behavior, some politicians often shout.

But often left out of the video game discussion is how video games can actually be helpful to a child’s intellectual development. While it may sound a bit outlandish at first, video games can often help kids hone their problem solving skills, sometimes without them even realizing it. What’s more, kids who really love video games often start trying their hand at making their own, a sentiment recently articulated by none other than Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg who credits his childhood love of video games with turning him into a programmer.
