Apple on Monday unveiled iOS 9, a new major operating system update for iPhone and iPad that brings over various neat performance and stability improvements but also a bunch of interesting new features. The first iOS 9 beta is available to download and install, if you’re a developer or have access to a developer account. However, it turns out that you can install iOS 9 on your iPhone right now even without having it registered with a dev account.

One of the most important Apple announcements coming from WWDC 2015 concerns music. Apple has finally announced its Beats-based music streaming service, which will be available starting with late June on iOS 8.4, Mac and Windows devices, and on Android in the fall. One of Android M‘s cool new features is meant to improve the overall user experience concerns battery life. Announced on stage last week during the opening keynote of Google I/O 2015, Doze will put apps in a deep sleep status and will supposedly have a significant impact on battery life.
