In what seems like the blink of an eye, drones went from something only gadget enthusiasts obsessed over to mainstream machines you can now pick up from places like Toys”R”Us for just $25. In turn, the number videos on YouTube featuring drone footage has skyrocketed in just the last few months alone. In the process, we’ve also seen an increase in drone related mishaps.

In the last week, two such drone ‘disasters’ made their way around the web. While one might think that flying a drone in the open skies should be a worriless affair, the following videos prove otherwise.

This is an IndieGoGo project that’s so awesome, we just have to hope it’s not a scam. A team of architects in the U.K. led by a man named Jonathan Wilson has started an IndieGoGo campaign to raise £1.85 billion (USD$2.89 billion) to build Minas Tirith, the beautiful city that was built into a mountainside in The Lord of the Rings films.

Last Friday, Target announced that it would be doing away with gender-based signs in its stores. That means no more displays featuring girls playing with Barbies and boys duking it out with Nerf guns.

It’s a smart, sensitive move on the part of Target, refusing to propagate gender norms and letting kids decide who they want to be, but as you might expect when literally anything happens to help make people feel more comfortable, some customers were outraged.

There are many Apple analysts out there — some of them are good and some of them are… not-so-good. The most amusing Apple analyst bar none, however, is Global Equities Research analyst “Acid” Trip Chowdhry, who infamously declared that Apple would “disappear” if it didn’t release the Apple Watch by last May. Street Insider informs us that Chowdhry is back with a new prediction about Apple’s next big project and it’s apparently going to be a heads up display (HUD) that measures anywhere from 27 inches to 50 inches.

It’s become increasingly common over the past few years for tech companies to reward hackers with cold hard cash whenever they discover and promptly report critical software bugs. Some companies, with Google and Microsoft being two prime examples, even officiate hacker contests to help squash as many bugs as possible.

With that as a backdrop, one would think that Facebook would have been a bit more forgiving when dealing with an intern who discovered a security flaw affecting the company’s Messenger app. Coming straight out of Harvard, Mark Zuckerberg’s alma mater, intern Aran Khanna was on the verge of starting an internship with the social networking giant this summer before having the offer withdrawn.
