Uber has been a game-changer. Not “game-changer” as in some random startup with an overpaid PR firm claiming its automatic cat feeder is a game-changer. We’re talking about a massively disruptive company that actually changed an entire industry and continues to do so. In areas where Uber is available, users simply open up an app and tell an Uber driver where to meet them. Then they take a ride and get out when it’s done without having to worry about making cash payments or fumbling with a POS system when they arrive at their destination.

There is one key feature that Uber has always been missing though, and now it’s finally available thanks to a great new free iPhone app.

Like Google, Facebook’s business is built around a simple design. It offers services to users for free, but those users are not Facebook’s customers. Instead, Facebook’s customers are companies that pay to run advertisements on its website and in its mobile apps. And the reason Facebook is so successful is that it offers its clients ways to target their ads better than most rivals. Why? Because Facebook knows so much about its users’ likes, dislikes and all sorts of other personal information.

It’s a successful model and it’s not going to change anytime soon. By using Facebook, you’re agreeing to let the company make use of your data in order to serve you targeted ads. As long as you understand that, then go right ahead and use Facebook all you’d like — but there are still a few things you’re better off keeping to yourself.

Oh, Jon Stewart. How we have missed you.

The former host of The Daily Show has been retired for months now, but that doesn’t mean he’s not following the news. In particular, he seems to be following the remarkable success of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump very closely. Appearing on David Axelrod’s “Axe Files” podcast this week, Stewart tore into the presumptive Republican nominee and said he wasn’t sure it was constitutional for a “man baby” to become president.

First, it was the FBI to break into an encrypted iPhone without Apple’s help. Around the same time, the LAPD was breaking into its an iPhone on its own. In either case, the mysterious hacks used by law enforcement did not actually break Apple’s encryption algorithms, but they allowed investigators to access data on devices that were locked.

Now we can add India to the list of parties that can supposedly break into a locked encrypted iPhone.
